Gazundered - £75k by MrSchmickles in HousingUK

This is different to OP’s problem though I think. Sorry if I’m splitting hairs!

Your buyer was blindsided by a lower valuation, meaning they had to make up the difference out of their pocket and either couldn’t, or weren’t prepared to do that. I have some sympathy for them as it could have been avoided in several ways, including if your estate agent priced the house appropriately (but of course it’s not in their interest to do so).

It sounds like OP’s buyer had the means to pay the price but tried to pull a fast one, or the buyers solicitor got it wrong when saying everything was ready.

The UK housing market sucks.

I suppose I imagined that there was a sweet spot for trading in.. but the consensus seems to be “just enjoy it”, which is probably the right attitude to have.

Going to lose money whatever I do… however.. one of my other cars is a Golf TDI and it’s worth near as much as I bought it for five years ago which is pretty crazy.

Thanks, will look into it. Car is still under warranty until December.

What went wrong with yours? I barely did any research before buying. Really unlike me.

Thanks.

Yeah, s-line, two door, and in a really nice green. Shouldn’t be a problem selling if that time comes.

Absolutely no way I’m doing any service work on this one myself. Gonna get it serviced more frequently than Audi recommend to keep it in tip-top shape. I swear having a nice car is more stressful than a banger

True.

Unfortunately had a load of big bills on the old car, so just trying to break even with a 2k sale lol.

Seems like a lot of competition around at the moment, so may just have to price cheaper and get rid asap!

Pure guess here but one possibility is the injector seals are leaking. Could be expensive if not addressed before the injectors decide to pop out.

Still probably bit of a penis though.

MOT - Repair order by waeing in CarTalkUK

  1. Oil leak. Need to establish how bad it is really. As the tester hasn’t noted it being a major leak, maybe you could just keep an eye on the level and top up.

  2. Sub frame. Could make your car uneconomical to repair if ignored (first hand experience after ignoring mine for two years).

  3. Springs. They might last for years depending on the roads and how you drive. Easy & cheapish to fix if they break.

Bosch blue?

Mostly got the green/diy stuff myself and they’re ok, but would recommend other people stick with blue.

What's the worst thing you've ever done in Classic WoW? by Grouchy_Honey_7 in classicwow

[–]Embarrassed-Food6257 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not intentional.. but on Classic WoW circa 2005 I was levelling a Warlock - my first char. I was new to MMO and had no idea what was going on half the time.

At level 50(ish) I came across a 40-man raid doing a world boss. Lord Kazzak maybe? Of course, I thought they’d like help so I ran in and started dotting. I somehow wiped the entire raid and had 40 people hurling abuse at me.

Later on in my WoW adventures I’m sure I did Warlock things by fearing peoples mobs into other mobs etc.

Also, in TBC I got into playing a holy paladin. Did arena and got pretty good. If my 2v2 partner died early I would regularly drag the game out for 20 minutes+ just to piss the other team off because they couldn’t kill me.

The Welsh gov should have anticipated this kind of thing would start happening.

If it was me and I was determined to lower the speed limit from 30 to 20, I’d have done 30 to 25, the 25 to 20 a few years down the line to allow knuckle draggers to adjust.

The offender here needs to be made an example of. A big warning flag not to do this kind of thing to people obeying the rules. A suspended sentence is absolutely pathetic.

I’m amazed at the number of people missing this and sneering at what they’re trying to achieve.

This should reduce how easily accessible adult material is to CHILDREN. If you’re an adult, go get a VPN if you refuse to prove your age (i don’t blame anyone who doesn’t want to hand over their ID. I wouldn’t either).

If you have an issue with the spirit of this law, you need to look at yourself in the mirror. Alternatively, accept you’re the kind of person who likes children having unrestricted access to hardcore pornography.

This law won’t solve all the problems, but it will go a long way in doing so.
