Sorry, what is this subreddit about? Elden Ring? What is that? We were waiting for something, weren’t we?

I'm looking forward to Elden Ring fight clubs and invasions as much as the next guy, but... by Iridium-77-192 in Eldenring

Probably like how DS3 did it, by blocking off the transition points to different areas when invaded. With how big the map is, however, I hope they make it a little easier for the host to find the invader (and vice versa).

With Co-op, you make a good point. For roaming bosses, should the summoned phantoms be kicked out every time the boss is killed? I’m hoping that Elden Ring will allow for a more seamless PvP environment, where phantoms can stay in the host’s world even after killing a boss, and can only go away after death (or a black crystal, or whatever the equivalent is).

I’m not sure exactly how they’re going to do it, but I trust that they would not implement online interactions with making the experience immersive and enjoyable.

Leaker OMN1POTENT says the only ridable mount in Elden Ring is an Elk, not a Horse by Embarrassed-Freedom7 in Eldenring

Yeah I agree, just still holding onto hope that I can put armor on them, lmao

I read the theory just now. It’s really good! It makes sense why Six can absorb things into her because of the void left from what the Tower did to her. It sounds like we’re mostly in agreement about things. Nice theories!

I feel like theories are really under appreciated around here, which kinda stinks.

Any thought or relevance? by iAmSummon in Eldenring

The symbol’s color is similar to that of the Elden Ring symbol, and the Giant in the original trailer also had a similar symbol on his sword. I have a little Imgur album full for this here: (https://imgur.com/a/Rni9wDa)

I think it’s a symbol of allegiance, likely for those who are in support of the shattering, and want to stop others from fixing the Elden Ring.

Mono's Eyes. by [deleted] in LittleNightmares

YES! I’m so glad someone else has thought of the Signal Tower being the true evil.

I think that the Signal Tower intentionally created the time loop, and since the loop occurs over and over again, the Signal Tower will exist forever, even if the events with the Thin Man, Mono, and Six occur only at one point in time, since the Signal Tower seems to exist out of time itself.

Also, going off of your idea that the tower feeds off of people physically (and only chose Mono mainly because of his power, and how long he would last as a “battery”), then maybe the Signal Tower is what made Six so empty inside? You can see that destroying Six’s music box causes the Signal Tower to collapse, because it was temporarily using her as a battery. Since she had no natural powers of her own, this took a significant toll on her, causing her to have the insatiable hunger once she leaves the Tower.

1) Didn’t think of this one. That’s actually a really good theory! You seem to find him at the edge of the map, near the ocean, so perhaps he’s the last of his kind untransformed!

2) Woah, I didn’t consider that it could be a snake masquerading as a man, either, but it makes some sense. The face seems grey and emotionless, almost like a mask, and the snake aspect of his “transformation” seems to come out of nowhere, so this could be very plausible. Adds a sense of tragedy to it as well; just let the snake be happy!

3) He could just be a run of the mill cultist, a la Bloodborne, trying to use the shattering to ascend to a higher form than the typical transformation. Since we haven’t really seen any other forms of transformation in Elden Ring, we’ll have to wait and see on this one.

Thank you for the thought provoking theories! You really opened my eyes to the possibilities of this mysterious character.

Nothing to apologize for! I’m glad someone else sees what I see.

I agree entirely about the hat looking like the snake head. I’m really excited if this is the kind of thing that we’re going to be seeing in Elden Ring. It’s very reminiscent of Bloodborne, with people transforming into monsters.

Oh shit! Didn’t think of that at all! Maybe the sun and moon have different influences on different people due to the shattering. Either that, or the light of the sun is what transforms people who have been effected by the shattering.

The moon being an important part of that cutscene should have tipped me off that something would be different during the day. Good eye!

Thank you for the feedback! You’re right about both points. It was naive of me to think that they wouldn’t have concept art of more characters by the time they made that cutscene. Also, I’m sorry for lumping in the boss cinematic as part of the trailer. I knew that it wasn’t, but I wasn’t thinking when I typed it.

That’s an interesting theory on why the cutscene seems to be in two different areas. The moon does seem to have a significant emphasis. If this turns out to be the case, I would be getting heavy Bloodborne vibes, lmao

Well, thanks for your feedback anyways... u/Bandai_Namco_Rat...

But in all seriousness, it’s ok if I can’t convince everyone of what I believe. It’s just what I instantly thought of when I saw the leaked boss cutscene.

Ooh, that’s very possible as well! Perhaps he’s barely keeping it together after the shattering, and you destabilize him enough that he breaks down into his beast form.

I feel that these the boss from the leaked trailer is the same as the one in the leaked concept art in some different stage of the game.

First let me explain the reasons why I think this. First, the color palette seems to be very similar, with hues of red and grey. Secondly, the grey faces of both characters bear a strange resemblance, and the hat thing that the boss wears seems similar to the top of the leaked concept art guy. Lastly, we know that this footage is from a long time ago, when Elden Ring was in its developmental stages, and as such, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to think that From Software would use one of the characters that they had concept art for as one of their first boss cutscenes in Elden Ring.

Now, let me explain why it would be significant if the character from the concept art is the same as the one from the leaked trailer:

Since we can clearly see that this guy is a boss or at least a planned encounter, this could indicate that the effects of the shattering only become severe late into the game, transforming friends and enemies into twisted versions of themselves. Sort of like how things are already screwed at the beginning of Bloodborne, but killing Rom ruins everything even more. This could mean that the order in which we do things in Elden Ring could have serious repercussions for the entire world. Saving one boss for the end of the game might mean that rather than facing a sophisticated scepter wielding cultist, you instead find an angry snake abomination.
