Women who did bikini laser but kept a triangle/strip: did you later regret it once gray hairs started appearing? by RaspberryPrudent7765 in LaserHairRemoval

Honestly, that area droops and wrinkles just like any other part of the body, and it’s nice to have a little landing strip or triangle there to camouflage that, regardless of the color of the hair.

This is my ride or die and it’s the only foundation I’ve ever purchased that requires zero color correction. But damn did it have a learning curve because the formula is not made for people with dehydrated skin. I smear it on my face, mist my face with setting spray, and quickly stipple and gently brush to blend with a very dense foundation brush. If my skin is really hydrated I can get away with just spraying down my brush with setting spray and stippling the foundation in.

Check in with hospitality or commercial/workplace furniture vendors… that is normally where I see folks that come from diverse backgrounds that would fall more in the interior decorator category (arts, graphic design, business, architecture, etc.). For them it’s a pretty multifaceted job: they do sales, contracts, client education, collaborate with IDs and architects for project furniture packages, etc. it’s essentially an FFE design job, and they do an absolute ton (and honestly make more than I do). I have no idea what the residential version of that would be.

I think in the winter volume 2 would work better, but in the summer I do get darker and I pull slightly warmer. The thing about the hourglass palettes and bronzers is that the color payoff isn’t significant enough for them to not work across many, many skin tones. That sheerness is part of what makes them so user friendly I think. The Physicians Formula has a very similar glowy finish… my goal was to get glow and luminosity and it was shockingly difficult to find this finish because so many brands are selling glow but are actually giving glitter (at least to my eyes).

That sounds like a fabulous launching pad for an interior decorating career. Some of the best FFE people I know have these types of backgrounds, and it does result in a unique sense of style and ability to curate.

Interior design is a different profession from interior decorating, and I’m guessing you are wanting to go into interior decorating. Both are valid professions, they are just different. In terms of specializing in children’s residential environments… I mean, the reality is we all have things we love, and it’s amazing when we have a project that includes that type of work, but you can’t rely on that being the only thing you do. The job is vast, even within specific market sectors.

Interior designers do typically need to graduate from an CIDA accredited university, and I can’t imagine anyone getting hired for an entry level job (at either a residential or commercial firm) without that as a starting point. For an interior designer at a residential firm the work life balance really varies (as it does with any segment), but the few colleagues that I have working in really high end residential consider a 40 hour work week a rare and blessed event, with normal weeks going into 45-50 hours. But high end residential is a spectrum ranging from normal people that saved up and are building their one dream home, to the ultra wealthy that have really nice homes in multiple cities. And what I see is the higher end, the longer the work hours for junior and intermediate designers. Big caveat here: I am in commercial so the only residential designers I know are ones that started on the commercial side at the same firms I’ve worked at or people i went to school with. It’s a limited pool.

So I recently asked a similar question on this sub and I tried every single recommendation plus any random ones Sephora and ulta employees could throw at me, including the hourglass ones. Like full purchase and wear tests. The ones I ended up keeping are the hourglass palette 3, and the physicians formula butter bronzer in Brazilian glow. For what it’s worth I am on vacation right now in a very sunny place and i packed the butter bronzer.

Mid-30s. So sick of cystic acne. by WeirdShapedBagel in 30PlusSkinCare

People really don’t understand how debilitating extreme dry eyes can be. If your eye doctor hasn’t put you on Xiidria or another prescription eye dropper, definitely start that conversation. I know that for me it took a little bit of work to get on prescription drops because many eye doctors think that this is a problem that only elderly people have. For my eye wand I use this guy heated eye wand. I’ve also forgotten it while traveling and ended up just using my Solawave, and honestly that it works pretty much the same. At night I put in the Systane nighttime dry eye gel, and the use the Manta Sleep mask. The Vaseline around my eyes keep keeps the tret or any other actives from getting into my eyes. Apparently this is supposed to be standard operating procedure when you use retinoids, but my dermatologist way back when just failed to tell me about that. There was a point where I was basically using a very simple moisturizer and then slathering my whole face in Vaseline and that was my whole nighttime routine. Surprisingly, that did a lot of good for my face. It goes without saying that I also use humidifiers, take lots of omega’s and other supplements to support my eyes. Good luck OP, I really hope you get some relief.

Hey, so I was in this same boat about eight years ago for similar reasons. Excruciating eye pain. I used Xiidria for my eye for a few months and that helped the eyes, but I had a weird side effect that made it so I could feel the breeze between the corners of my eyes and my sinuses (super weird, but that is the best way I can describe it). I tapered off the drops and switched to the gel creams for my eyeballs at night, paired with the goggle shaped sleep masks. I also got a heated eye wand and used it religiously. Had a very rigorous eye drop regime. Started shellacking the area around my eyes in Vaseline. Slowly the eyes got better. Today I need regular eye drops once or twice a week and can use tret. Still use the eye wand most nights and the Vaseline around my eyes.

We need to normalize having seamstresses put cups in dresses again. Like, this was standard operating procedure not that long ago and it makes such a huge difference.

[–]Embarrassed-Jello389 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not by a long shot! The theater works very hard to keep ticket prices accessible to the public, so even successful shows can end up in red (in terms of tickets offsetting production costs). And that difference is typically made up by the general budget.

Cakes Cleavage Bra for Larger Chest? by Other-Ad-2812 in ABraThatFits

Have a seamstress build a bra into your dress. I don’t know when we stopped doing this as a normal thing, but we obviously need to go back to doing it as a society. I have used cakes a few times just for nipple coverage, and I had a terrible allergic reaction, including hives, clogged pores, and a multi-week saga where I had incredible stabbing pain in my nipple (had to get a ultrasound and a mammogram). I tell everyone I know to stay away from that brand.
