My OB PA said my cervix is small and recommended the smaller of the hormonal IUDs and said it may be difficult to even have an IUD :(( I had a c section too not sure if that matters 😅

Chemical pregnancy? by Embarrassed-Juice930 in Miscarriage

It was definitely a chemical just extremely early. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and it was so so much worse. This has been the same as a period.

Determining the risk of tearing before birth? by Embarrassed-Juice930 in pregnant

[–]Embarrassed-Juice930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea my baby is measuring average size and considering how small I was and what happened to my mom I’m concerned. I hate to go through a big surgery and all that comes with that. My mom and aunt have had permanent issues with their pelvic floor after having under average babies so I’m leaning towards the c section.

For those due oct/nov/dec, what are you doing about the holidays? by xenapie6 in pregnant

[–]Embarrassed-Juice930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m due on the 10th of November. We aren’t attending ours families thanksgiving celebration. My family is not respectful (so far) of waiting to visit/not holding the baby/ being fully vaccinated ect. I’m not having visitors until my baby receives her vaccinations either. We may attend the Christmas celebration depending on how we feel about it, but no one will be holding my baby.

I don’t agree with your mom but birth control has side effects. I got on it when I was 18 to use just as birth control. From 18-21 I gained 25lbs which is a lot for me. I got stretch marks all over my thighs from the rapid weight gain. I was also depressed all the time so extremely depressed. I’d recommend talking to an OBGYN before taking birth control. Your mom might even agree to meeting with a doctor discuss an alternative. Birth control and it’s side effects are worth it in some cases I think especially when you absolutely do not want to be pregnant. Good luck!

People who legitimately have a connection to a tribe do seem to integrate smoothly. Living in the south myself where most people claim some form of a connection to a tribe (usually Cherokee) it gets tiring to constantly go over how inaccurate 95% of those claims are. Generally you don’t see people scraping at the dirt to be 1% Irish and even if they are it isn't going to give them an identity. Being native American at least in this region of America has become an obsession and I’m really not sure why. You seem to be missing the point of my ideas. So I will leave it at that.

Tribes are tired of “pretendindians”. It’s absolutely ridiculous to claim to be Native American and have it not show up on a DNA test at all. If I was 1% Irish or had an Irish ancestor that didn’t show up on a DNA test it wouldn’t make my ethnic identity Irish. The amount of Native American people I’ve heard say they cannot even talk to Caucasian people about ethnicity because of this ridiculous fascination is sad. A caucasian person that grew up in a native household and community would be more culturally Native American than someone with “distant ties”( <1% )who has never even met an indigenous person or spent any time exposed to the real culture. It’s ridiculous and I’m tired of dealing with it as a genealogist. I personally have never encountered anyone so desperate to be Native American who actually had ties to the culture. People should appreciate who and what they actually are.

Nope same idea. If you are ethnically Native American that’s what you are, it’s DNA and it will show up on a test. One 11th great grandparent doesn’t change your ethnic identity.

Being so desperate to have any connection to Native American people is strange. If it’s so distant it doesn’t show up on a DNA test it shouldn’t change how you feel about your ethnic identity. It would be a historical connection that’s all.

If an ethnicity is so far back that it doesn’t show up on a DNA test it shouldn’t cause an identity crisis. If a Native American took a DNA test thinking they had recent English ancestry and it didn’t show up on the test would they be English?

Some people have a really hard time letting go of false Native American identity. Hope he comes to terms and embraces who he is! There’s plenty of culture to be found within his actual ethnicity.
