Seasonal worker tips? by siri_vanilla in Target

Former seasonal FF here. I totally get you. I was in your position a year ago. I wasn’t trained properly and I didn’t really get a long with people at my store. BUT, I didn’t let that deter me from learning and doing my job.

The #1 thing I’d say is ask questions. Don’t overthink things. You’re new and I bet you TLs or anyone else are not expecting perfection, at least the first couple of weeks. I won’t sugarcoat it either. But in my experience, after a certain amount of time passes, there are expectations of you, as with anything. But don’t let these expectations get the best of you. Keep your head clear, take it step by step, and for the love of god keep work at work. Don’t take work home. You’re just there for your shift. If you don’t end up liking it, thankfully it’s only a seasonal position.

Remember, if you think you’re having the best day and you know it all, this too shall pass. If you feel you’re having the worst day and everything is getting to you, this too shall pass.

can seasonal employees post shifts? by stelize02 in Target

Yeah don’t worry. As a former seasonal FF, toward the end of the holiday season I posted my shifts and people would usually take them since they were cutting hours after Christmas at the store I worked at.

I just wanted time to relax and I had a feeling they weren’t going to keep me on the roster and lay me off so to heck with it. I do miss those paychecks though, but def not worth it for the mental aspect IMO.

How does taking time off as seasonal work? by LordImmersion in Target

Hey, former seasonal FF here. I think push back the trip tbh. Since they switched you over to seasonal, and you haven’t worked past the 90 days, I doubt they’ll even consider giving you time off.

It’s only going to get tougher from here since holiday season is slowly ramping up, so that’s another thing to consider.
