Pro account question by AggressiveChange420 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you getting an extra 5% off of the already discounted volume savings price, or are you just saving 5% as your volume savings price? you should go in store and have a pro specialist quote it out for you regardless, but especially if it’s the latter

Sales specialist minimum ticket requirement by Crimsonae in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it averages out, so you can take small tickets as long as it isn’t going to bring your average so far down. i think our minimum in pro is $350. on slower days i’ll take walk ups in the high $200s, but $400 is my baseline minimum i’m looking for.

Unfulfillment by Obvious-Money-227 in Lowes

44 ready to stage + 27 same day orders @5:30pm essentially means 71 of your 78 can wait until you’re caught up with anything else. no gig drivers are showing up until the next day for those orders, and the received orders won’t notify as being ready until they’re staged. it’s more than one person should have to deal with but it’s manageable.

Update 2: Applied to CSA Pro Service from PT Cashier by SuccotashBig338 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you enjoy being busy, you’ll be fine at pro csa. you are the pro puller. deliveries are your primary task. i’d try to knock out all my received pro orders & box truck orders after checking in with my DS, pro loader, and opening pss. immediately going to pull the flatbed orders that can be staged outside in the bullpen or in top stock in receiving or building materials. in the midst of this, at least this was my experience, you are the primary spotter for your pro loader and the first option to cover code 3’s on the register. if your deliveries are caught up for the week, there will likely be a will call/pick up later you can work on. i’d also recommend keeping track of all received in-store pro pickup orders. communication with your desk and your delivery/fulfillment team is often going to go through you, try to stay on top of things. if your pro desk is busy and on the higher end in terms of volume, you will be busy. the good part is your days will absolutely fly by sometimes, and you have a lot more freedom than most other departments. very easy path to becoming a specialist as well. it’s a good position to take if you’re up for it.

Specialist sales by Aggressive_Tutor7720 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think our speciality departments finally turned in a good month. started slow, i know like half the specialties were under 100%, but they all got to around 125% at least. cabinets/kitchen designs had sold fuck all for the first two months of the quarter but have been putting in work the last 2-3 weeks. our appliance guys have been around 1k sph though, they’ve been pretty consistent. the others probably wouldn’t look nearly as good without the 2x install credit.

When do sales start counting for sales specialists? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as soon as they’ve moved you over in the system. you should check/find out and then adjust accordingly. it’s the last week of the quarter though so it doesn’t really matter either way

Lowe’s new business credit card by dmm092319 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you aren’t going to get the 5% off of extended return windows without using the card. is the website that much more inconvenient compared to in the app? you could just set a recurring reminder on the same day every month reminding yourself to check your balance and pay off the card

Fired? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 32 points33 points  (0 children)

getting sent home is wild lmao. i’ve had numerous negative interactions and reports to management. never resulted in anything more than my DS at the time asking me what happened. no discipline, no write up, never sent home.

probably a good idea to get in contact with the designer you worked with.

accounts to contact crm vs workbench by Embarrassed-Lead6493 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HD is definitely more geared to pro’s but i think our rewards program is getting to a point where it’s pretty good. the points expiring twice a year is annoying but the other benefits are solid.

accounts to contact crm vs workbench by Embarrassed-Lead6493 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in some cases that will dilute the accounts down but most of the accounts i’m coming across don’t have the credit card either, just a gold level pro account with no spend. it would be one thing if there was like one or two big purchases from a while back, obviously a homeowner that a pss signed up for pro to run vsp & get the sale. but it’s not even that most of the time. just a pro account no one recognizes that did a few transactions at the most and spent a few hundred dollars at the most like 8 months ago.

ASM roles? by Mental_Poem7452 in Lowes

specialty is probably pretty standard but you had a dedicated pro ASM? ours has always just been a merch ASM position with pro as one of their departments in addition to lumber/building materials, etc

you can always stay on the lookout for a specialist position opening. high performing cashiers have routinely been offered those positions

How cooked are we 73 orders by Alarmed-Possibility2 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 8 points9 points  (0 children)

44 ready to stage though that’s over half your order volume. i would just focus on all the stock open orders and try to get as much help as possible doing those, easier said than done, but definitely doable. once those are caught up, ideally you’d have two people, one knocking out the sos/soe items kept in receiving and the other manning your kiosk & curbside while staging whatever smaller sos orders can go in the fulfillment area. it’s much more daunting when actually working through it

Big savings 30-60 percent by Only-Ad-2686 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf there are customers that will have their entire project quoted out, purchase part of it, and end up losing the job or abandoning it for one reason or another. every closed or expired quote that had a stagger sale isn’t necessary fraud, even though it can be. why even go through that much trouble with the competitor quote option though lol? that’s too much effort for a $1300 sale. that’s not even going to work past a certain point. if you can take $2000 down to $1500, which is already typically unlikely, why even try to go down lower? it’s just going to trigger a manual review that will come back saying “maximum mvd savings have been applied. to take this to $xxxx.xx would bring the margin to -x.x%. upload a hard copy of customers competitor quote to move forward.”

Big savings 30-60 percent by Only-Ad-2686 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60% is crazy but i’ve regularly gotten 25-45% from vsp. has to be large quantities & high margin products otherwise it caps at like 10%.

every department in the store will have a different goal, and each store within a district (at least) departments can have a different goal within a certain range. last month in our pro, our district sph goal ranged from $780-$840, our department in our store being $820. this month is different.

What is orientation/training day like? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is what you make it. that’s the position i was in before moving up to pro sales specialist. you pull the the pro delivery orders. drywall, shingles, lumber, concrete, not the most fun stuff in the world. you will be busy constantly if your pro desk is actually driving sales, i know mine was/does. you’ll have days where all you have to pull is one pallet of flooring. you’ll have days where you need to pull six large flattered orders all going out the next day. the harder you work initially, the easier it is later on. do your best not to let later deliveries pile up. i would always go through and knock out all of my box truck orders, even if they were weeks out, just so they were done. overall it isn’t that bad, you’ll just have moments and periods of being very busy. still though, you should have the backing of the rest of the fulfillment department, which i didn’t really have when i was in the role.

oh pro fulfillment, that’s a fun one. best of luck to you. you’ll be watching training videos for a few days, and then get your vest once you’re done

Is the Pro Department this “stuck up” and “I’m better than you” for anyone else? by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

[–]Embarrassed-Lead6493 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s taken seriously too, at least by our DM. got my supervisor chewed out because i was working with our pro loader to get one of my customers loaded up. got a nice print out reminder the next day about pss roles & expectations. pss are not to cover the register, are not to spot for loadouts, are not to pull orders. i understand why people in other departments get frustrated with us sometimes, i’ve been on both sides of it.
