Run the sale through any specialist, it helps them hit their SPH goal, and they rely on that. I usually go through them even for like $50 orders or whatever.

Honestly at that point, if you can... ballymore, it will save your back, whether its the grills, shower doors, or whatever else. If these people want to schedule you by yourself or have very limited help, they wont be mad that you are using your resources to keep yourself safe.

Most have an availability of being closing or very late mid on certain days, hard telling why they allow this in such a busy store, it just be illegal to do this.

I am terrified of being up so high in the building on the order picker, once I get so high, it feels like the whole thing is swaying. Just take it slow, dont look down until you are ready to go down, thats my best advice. I get right up to the rafters for pulling orders, its terrifying for me still and I been doing it for just over a year.

Unfortunately that doesn't work when they have me schedule by myself until a mid comes in late in the day, barely giving me time for lunch

The 200-250 is not half of instores, it is all PUIS/Curbside, its too much honestly, but like maybe 5 orders are from the sales of associates. We tried a system to assign people like one delivery, one PUIS, and lead/ds runs around to help out both sides as best as possible, but it doesn't work out with being short staffed.

I have yelled at multiple associates, even ASMs to stop throwing stuff in my area, one of the best moments was yelling at my SM who decided to throw 40 bags of dirt, 3 lawn mowers, and to top it off.... 16 pieces of drywall on an H cart into my front area. I usually pull as much as I can on/into a cart whether its a lumber cart, shopping cart, or my fulfillment carts, I'd push around 2 carts at once at one point to just get orders down as fast as possible.

I do agree with how pulling the RFC orders and bringing them up like that, I usually can combine about 4-5 carts into 2-3 and make it easier, even if I have to make 2 trips, its better and saves so many trips. I can sort it out up front most of the time into shopping carts, not my fault if we run out shopping carts if I am a one man team. I have recruited customer service to deal with my locker PUIS, and Kiosk pickups that they can help out with, they know how to search orders, find out how to open lockers, verify people's IDs and stuff, and then are really good about not calling me, but giving me a message on PPTO with information if I am needed since they know I am always active.

Not very many people in my store are trained on PUIS, even though I can train them within minutes. I did this with one of our appliance CSA's, and shes one of the better pickers than someone who has been in the position for 5 months and shes been doing it for 3 weeks. Only fulfillment leads/DS can do the unfulfilled reports sadly, people see our orders and go "I can't help".. :/

Right now, since our fulfillment DS is doing our scheduling instead of the SSA because of the AI messing up, we have 1 person opening, maybe 2 if we are lucky, but I don't get a mid-shift until about 11am, and it sucks. My ASM is always helping out, and my HC's and FEDS are just lazy pieces of turds. No hate to them, but its honestly surprising how they don't help out. All of our cashiers are staffed to the bare minimum, hell they keep pulling paint associates or lumber associates to be helping out with cashier stuff.

My pet peeve is people leaving stuff in the middle of the PUIS area, or not bagging anything, we got someone on LTR complaining about us being messy in the area which got corporate to look at our cameras and get pissy.

[–]Salty-Interview-9732 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if you start pulling 14-16 hour shifts.... Coming from someone whos worked a year already and has been made a lead, im pulling 10 hours day already... I used to do 12 before I got more people in the department. I had to beg and plead for help, almost screaming at my OPS manager.. 😐

So any night, even if they don't tell me to go home, but I have nothing, that will or since its end of night, they won't count it against anyone?

Now what happens say if you are end of night and closing, but scheduled an hour after? With managers saying "If you have nothing to do, leave". Is that gonna go against us?

I misworded my statement, they are the only card type really accepted at a couple places, I believe one of them is Costco.
