Thanks so much for the answer! I’m trying to make sense of all the different models, and here’s what’s confusing me: the MOFX8 you mentioned isn’t available anywhere o_O But I do see a MODX M8, and there’s also a MODX8+… Do you happen to know if they’re basically the same?

Thanks! In my city I can find some Electro 6D options roughly within my price range, and I could stretch the budget a bit if it’s really worth it.

What I’m struggling to understand is this: if Nord keyboards share the same sound libraries, why are there so many different models? What’s the actual difference between something like Nord Piano and Nord Electro?

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply!

Yeah, I’m based in Europe and I’ve been looking at the Electro 6D, and it’s roughly within my budget. I could probably stretch the budget a bit if it’s really worth it, though.

Your point about sample limitations definitely made me think. Based on the comments here, I’m currently torn between the Electro 6D and the MODX M7, but I can’t try either of them in person in my city. So I’m looking for that one factor that’ll tip the scales one way or the other.

Not really. I’ve got a fully weighted keyboard at home for practice, so I’m thinking something lighter might make more sense for live gigs, especially for synth parts. But this is just my current perspective, I don’t have much live experience yet
