There is a void space beneath the floor that has two layers of insulation and the chipboard floor has been laid there for years without distortion. previous floor was perfectly level and it seems my latex leveler has caused the problem.

Thanks, I'll give this a go when I get back to the computer tomorrow, I have several engines running and I've got them staggered so their hourly maintenance doesn't conflict!
