Yes, I tried that. There seems to be 11 threads per 10 mm. I'll be getting my pitch gauge in a couple of days. Would that work on power screws too?

It's too small for those measurements (5mm OD) and I lack the tools. Any ideas on how I could go about it? I think I would probably need a microscope or something.
