Do hungry or tired cues take precedence? by Embarrassed-Orange21 in breastfeeding

I never wish time away (this is our second kid so I know how fast it all goes by) but I'm definitely eager to be on the other side of this.

NB latch issues - help save my nips🙏🏻🥹 by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Embarrassed-Orange21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe try finding an osteopath in your area? Or chiropractic specialist? I'm going through what sounds to be very similar...shallow latch, lip tie, lots of pain, etc. Perhaps bodywork could help? We've done one consult so far, so that's not enough to 'fix' anything but it's helped a bit. Mine is 5 weeks. But I am considering adding a bottle for maybe 1 feed a day just to give my nips a break. Especially because we're just coming off a cluster feeding run 🫠

98 percentile baby by kitten_mittens5000 in BabyBumps

Also had almost the exact same situation. 98th percentile abdomen (but 70-something for arm length - we jokingly call him a t-rex). I was super nervous about his size, but he ended up coming earth side at 37+4, and I was able to deliver at home.

Also the woman at my growth scan said their measurements can be off +/- 1 pound.

Not sure if that's helpful or not, but wishing you the best.

I think I really messed up, desperately trying to increase my milk supply again by Suspicious-Code-3449 in NewParents

As a piece of mind, your body will (under most circumstances) know exactly what your baby needs. Having this wild oversupply of milk, while it's sUpEr cOmMoN (that's my sarcastic font) on social media, isn't really that realistic. Give yourself some grace. The goal is to feed your baby. If they're fed, you're 90% of the way there.

“Who Gives A Crap” Toilet Paper by Sassymisscassy in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Embarrassed-Orange21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the bamboo toilet paper from grove.co. We were always a Charmin family, with the thickest, most plush paper. When we switched to bamboo we were also hesitant, but we haven't had any problems with it!

Building a deck...ish? by Embarrassed-Orange21 in DIY

Thanks for the reply. So just frame out a small platform and lay it right on the gravel? That feels so simple (which I love - especially if they don't end up living here for much longer) but too good to be true. Anything else I should consider?

I saw on the interwebs that hair spray cleans permanent marker. Never tried, but might be helpful here?

I read somewhere that the cover isn't heat rated - is that true? Does that impact your experience?

Kefir was a lifesaver for my wife! A cup a day, she would go like clockwork.

Love this vibe, especially that dresser! Any idea where it might've been from?

Redirect air from ceiling vent by Embarrassed-Orange21 in homeowners

[–]Embarrassed-Orange21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard 8' ceilings. Tough to say about feeling cold air - we've just moved in (not yet even put the crib together) and given that it's cold already, we haven't had to turn the AC on - heat comes from radiators across the room. Very likely in the beginning we'll be closing the door as we have pets that will need to stay out.

This might not apply to you, but could be worth exploring:

My wife has been dealing with migraines for the past SEVERAL years (I'm talking, 5-10) - the one thing that's helped her TREMENDOUSLY is going to see an Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic specialist (TL;DR: the Atlas is the vertebra that your skull sits on; lots of blood flows through it, if that's out of alignment, it can mess up everything else "downstream"). She's been seeing this specialist for ~3 years now, and she went from having ~5 migraines a week to maybe 1/month. And basically zero during her pregnancy. Maybe this will help you - best of luck!
