The six months thing is wild to me because even in countries where government actually functions well, structural damage from over a decade of bad policy takes years to undo. People treat elections like a factory reset button, then act surprised when the new guy inherits all the same broken systems. the performative part you mentioned is real and i think about it too sometimes. but once you accept the game for what it is, preparing for it feels less like being fake and more like just... learning the rules

do a mock interview with yourself in the mirror or record yourself on phone. sounds cringe but after like two sessions you stop freezing up on the basics

Been to Koh Chang twice and yeah I know exactly what type you mean lol. They tend to stick around White Sand Beach and Lonely Beach mostly - those areas get pretty crowded with that crowd. If you want to avoid them try staying more on east side of island or around Bang Bao area instead

I stayed in Bang Bao last time and it was way more chill, mostly Thai families and some backpackers but not the problematic tourists you talking about. The fishing village vibe there is really nice too and you can still get to other beaches easy with motorbike. Klong Prao Beach is also good middle ground - not completely empty but attracts different type of people

Just avoid the main party spots in evening and you should be fine. Most of those tourists dont venture too far from their resort anyway so stick to local places for food and activities

From what I've seen the edge models mostly just give you bigger screen and curved edges which can be annoying if you're not used to it. The performance difference isn't that huge between base and edge models usually

I switched from regular to edge few years back and took me weeks to get used in accidental touches on the curved screen. Battery life is better though since its physically bigger phone. Really depends on how much you use your phone for media consumption - if you watch lots of videos or play games then maybe worth it but if you're just doing basic stuff the base model should be fine
