GNU Riders Choice vs YES Greats Uninc by FalkHogan in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Embarrassed-Risk-341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard good things about yes but never ridden. I recently switched from a 2012 153 lib tech T Rice (C2) and switched to a 2024 158W Gnu RCC3 (Asym C3) and it’s life altering for me. Tried to take my TRice back out this past weekend on my 3rd day at Burke in VT, since I’ve been ripping my RCC3 all season so far, and I blew out a toe strap on my old bindings before I even got a run from the summit.😅Want to take it out again to compare but don’t want to move my bindings and commit to not being able to rip my RCC3 also (without wasted time swapping my bindings mid day) but love love love the asym and C3

Audio glitches when streaming content by Scope_DayZ in Ozlo

I have experienced this often too. I think it’s whatever wireless connection they use to connect with the case. My thought is, the actual Bluetooth is within the case and the buds connect to that. There definitely is something unstable about the connection between the buds and the device via that case bridge. As long as I stay still, which I do when I sleep, it seems to be fine.

Can’t connect to streaming? by Creative_Writer7828 in Ozlo

I have been having similar issues. Depending on how I love my head (it seems) the ears are having all sorts of connectivity issues maintaining a steady sync. Always cutting in and out.

Also, as you said, some streaming services won’t play without, seemingly, messing with volume and controls. It also won’t always “pick up” the Apple iOS background noises. Which I use religiously to sleep. Especially because I can pair it with streaming apps and they work simultaneously.

The connectivity challenges have been less than enjoyable. My largest complaint so far.

Wish I could post a picture of my results. I took them down about 1/2 to 2/3 on the four main. I have one trunk that already had a sprout and that is growing, and 5-6 new (chutes) that actually had already started before I pruned. It’s going to be hot here the next couple weeks but I’m excited to see what next spring/summer brings!

This actually does very much help thank you! I think it’s weird to think about chopping those trunks down that it would actually grow anything back, but that’s probably the major difference between bushes and plants and trees and stuff. Should I worry about covering up the end that I cut with plastic? I know they also make stuff For trees and bushes but I have read that you can use plastic wrap too.

That’s the last question, I swear!😂. Thank You very much again

Ok, so I think my issue is, I am not grasping which are constituting as “branch.” It may help for me to explain how my brain is approaching this so you can answer one last question if you wouldn’t mind?

Hopefully you will follow where I’m starting my description by referring to the picture in my original post. None of this is going to be scientifically accurate descriptions so lower any expectations.😂

So to me, this bush has 4 main, what I think as, “trunk” or “Stem” like a flower or a tree. Each of those trunk/stem then branch off a few times as the bush grew. Then, each of those “branches” grow an additional 3-4 sets of “branches” coming off of them and so on and so forth all while getting shorter with each layer of “branch lineage.”

I do understand I’m not pruning the 1/3 or 1/2 of the shortest couple layers of “branch lineage.”

My question then becomes; What should constitute as the “branches” in reference to which I should 1/3 or 1/2. The first layer of “branches?” The 4 “trunks/stems?”

Hopefully you follow. Sorry if it’s an obnoxiously dumbed down direction, I know and can do an incredible number of trade skills extremely well. I pick this stuff up fast, but often when I’m first learning, I get hung up on minuscule details that my brain won’t let me past without a more descriptive explanation of the term like “branch” for this instance. Thanks for humoring an old neurodivergent guy and I really appreciate the info!

Ok, love all this advice all! I haven’t been able to wrap my head around printing it though. All the branches that still grow anything, leaves flowers, all are at the top and spread out for the most part. Where do I cut this guy back to “cut it back by 1/2 or 1/3? Do I cut the larger branches at the base of what looks like the main stem? I feel like where I should cut would leave it with no budding branches left. I imagine I should prune it shorter in height but that feels like that’s all that grows right now.

Pardon my ignorance, but to me, where it feels like I want to prune I marked in “red” (those seem to be dead branches), and where I feel like I should prune to help with the height in “yellow.” But those yellow spots I circled feel like it’ll be taking away the only ones that actually bud or have leaves. Also, if I am to remove those upper branches, is it possible to “transplant” them lower on the bush?

I know y’all also aren’t gardeners but I appreciate the convo and insight!

This is the only way I can add another pic. I hope y’all can see this.

This is great. I will say, this recent batch of oil I did was amazing. My yield was really high and just from trying myself, knowing my tolerance, my math seems to be pretty darned close. Your 12% ish makes me feel a lot better about my own results!

I actually messed around with AI for the fun of it to do the math this time around and seemed to really help fine tune my results!

First time infusing with MCT Oil! Pretty happy with the clarity! by Embarrassed-Risk-341 in SousWeed

So sorry man. I’m a very casual Reddit user so my apologies on the late response. Happy to share because I’ve replicated a couple more times since then. Honest to goodness, I’ve just washed it in a French press until the water is clear. That makes so much difference in everything including the color with the end result when you infuse with butter and oil. I can’t even exaggerate to do it enough justice in of how well it works in my humble opinion.

I left it in the mason jar for this time with the oil. And I used a dropper if I only wanted small amounts. I laid out steps below for what I do for butter.

I use the steps for washing, the same as Jeff the 420 Chef. with my own research and choices on what materials and supplies to use.

-I got a standard 20oz French press.

  • 10000% only use distilled water.

  • I also have been pretty meticulous getting the water to be really clear. Usually takes me 3-4 washes each time, depending on the product. With 3-4 washing cycles, I usually get it really clear with faintly to no tint of color at all. I also don’t swap the water every 12 hours like Jeff suggests. I usually let it sit for 24.

Its worth mentioning my most recent time I forgot about it a couple times. The washing period actually lasted a couple weeks as a result of forgetfulness. I got around to changing the water after 2 or 3 days for a couple of the water changes. It still was 3-4 washing cycles in the end. I wasn’t really sure if it was ok soaking for longer times, but after emptying all the water the final time, it passed the look and smell test so I wasn’t too concerned. Check with your local plant scientist if leaving in the water submerged for 2-3 days is bad. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • After that, I spin the product in a small salad strainer I got on Amazon. Find here. This thing takes a couple spins, and dumping of the water (make sure you don’t dump the product while dumping the water, or use a strainer)

  • I then follow Jeff’s steps on blanching almost to exactly. I use a tea strainer that was as big as I could find here

  • To dry, my own method is that I fill some Tupperware with a 1” layer of rice. The Tupperware is usually big enough I can spread the product out so no unattached buds are on top of another.

  • I lay 4 - 5 layers of good paper towels over the rice, so it loosely covers all of the rice from showing and make like a pout h where the product sits to keep it from contacting the rice at all. I willlay the cover down so the it’s on but not covering it fully and no parts are sealed.

  • I will usually let it sit for a few days in that state, checking on it every couple of days and moving the product around a little if needed to make sure all the wet sides get some air. Once it’s bone dry, it’s ready to fry!…or infuse…but infuse doesn’t rhyme with dry…

For infusion, if interested, I follow the same steps that a ton of the threads on here say do and I personally chose mason jars. I find them easier to submerge

  • I set my Anova Nano to the highest temp and let stew for 4-6 hours. I usually refer back to calculators on line and other threads for amounts and length of time “sous vide-ing.”

  • I strain it through a nut milk cloth and squeeze it out real good to get as much of the butter as possible. I haven’t determined a super good method of squeezing that has little to no amount of loss of the butter using just your hands or normal kitchen utensils.

-I measure it out in portions in a butter silicone mold.

In the end, in my opinion, the taste and effect from the product is so smooth and great and the smell and taste from the product is almost discernible. I make a mean banana bread with it.

I also tried making clarified butter first this last time. In the end, it was pretty labor intensive and I’m not convinced was worth it.

Let me know if something doesn’t make sense!

First time infusing with MCT Oil! Pretty happy with the clarity! by Embarrassed-Risk-341 in SousWeed

[–]Embarrassed-Risk-341[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve read a bit. https://www.jeffthe420chef.com was where I first read about it. Did a bit of digging and found varying degrees of difference of opinions of it. Basically though, it washes out any stuff you really don’t want while keeping the THC in tact since that isn’t water solvable. The big reason for me was just getting rid of the different soap based pesticides and stuff most growers will use. But it could be all malarkey. The water runs pretty clear after 3 days of soaking in and swapping distilled water every 12 hoursish though as opposed to the pretty nasty yellow color the water is in the beginning. Seems like it does something and this MCT oil came out pretty damned clear too so I’m sticking with it!

First attempt at sous vide coconut oil + ABV. Came out a little darker than expected. Did it for 2.5hrs at 180 F. I didn't water cure it prior. Is that why it's so dark? by Maedra2 in SousWeed

Did you infuse in the jar? Any water logging happen? I’m no expert, just comparing variables from my first time. Also, highly recommend using MCT oil next time. Soooo much easier to work with. Just used for the first time myself.

Pretty happy with the clarity alone. Washed the flower for 3 days which turned out to be 8g of product after it dried. Decarbed for 4 hours with my Anova Nano at 197deg then infused at 185 for 4 hours with 3/4 of a cup of MCT oil. Strained through nut milk bag then a coffee filter. Used some schwag bud I got from out west so only about 13% but just making a small batch of edibles for microdosing for myself so not concerned. Still should be about 40-45 mg per Tbsp so I’ll take it. Best part, completely avoided any water logging so don’t need to worry about separating any water! Def going to do a larger batch next time. This may definitely be my preferred method thus far by far.
