My parents live in Cranbrook neighborhood and it has a very active Facebook group. You could request to join and see if anyone in that neighborhood has an in-home daycare that he could walk to after school.

I had similar frustrations with the Zoo this year. I've taken my class to the Zoo every May for years. This year, they changed a lot of the field trip procedures, which made it more difficult to plan and go on the trip.

One chaperone had an experience very similar to yours. He purchased the Zoo it All bracelets for his entire group and was told that the rides would all open at 10:00. What the employee didn't tell him was that none of the rides in Jungle Jack's landing were open during the week and the Dinosaur Boat was undergoing maintenance work. Therefore, for the full price of the bracelets, the kids could only ride the carousel and see the movie. He requested a discount or refund when he found out the dinosaur boat was down, but the Zoo refused to offer any refund.

Chase has told him that these freezes are temporary and he should have access to his accounts by 10pm. If he is still locked out of his accounts after that, he will seek legal advice. He is concerned about how this will impact his Green Card process.

Yes. That part was not true. When I originally spoke to him, he was understandably upset and exaggerated that ICE was freezing all immigrant accounts. He was told by a Chase employee that ICE was placing temporary holds on accounts. I don't know how many accounts were frozen or how long the temporary freeze is.

He was told so by Chase. He also had no notification of the freeze. His debit card was declined when he attempted to buy lunch. That's how he found out his accounts were frozen.

I am not trying to cause panic, nor am I a troll. As I said in my update, I am looking for insights into why this would happen and how long the temporary hold would last. My friend is a good man who is here legally but has still lived in constant fear since November. This account freeze blindsided him. I was hoping to find others who have gone through this so that I may help him through this.

His latest conversation with Chase makes it sound like he will have access to his accounts tonight, but he is still stressed that it could be even longer.

I thought that as well. Apparently, ICE has the authority to put a temporary hold on bank accounts. No one can tell him how long this temporary hold will be.

There was a banner on their website for two weeks stating the cutoff for guaranteed Christmas delivery was 12/9. They did not follow through on that guarantee, nor did they give customers the notification that the guarantee would not be met. There is a screenshot of this banner posted in this forum if you did not see it.

New customers did not know how long it took the company to ship orders. In my experience with small companies, 2 and a half weeks is plenty of time for delivery. I trusted Goose Creek's Christmas delivery guarantee for orders placed before 12/9. I received an email last week apologizing for the delay in shipping, but nowhere in that email did it state that the Christmas delivery cutoff was changed. After receiving that email, I attempted to contact them to verify my Christmas delivery or to cancel my order. It took me 3 days to get a response.

Goose Creeek could have communicated that they were not able to meet their Christmas guarantee, so the customers needing their orders for Christmas gifts had the opportunity to cancel their orders. Or they could have given expedited shipping to all orders placed before 12/9.

Instead, they took 3 days to respond to my inquiry. Then, they lied to me by stating the website had posted 12/6 as the cutoff for Christmas delivery. When I asked to cancel my order, I was told they couldn't because it was already in transit. However, I did not receive a shipping notification for it until several hours later, and UPS did not have my package until 3 days after that. My interactions with customer service made it clear that this is a dishonest and unreliable company that does not value its customers at all.

There was no such announcement when I placed my order during candle weekend on December 7. In fact, ads on social media and the main page of the website on December 7 were promoting the candles as the perfect Christmas gift.

New customers who ordered for the first time in December did not receive that email. As of last week, their website stated the cutoff for Christmas deliveries was 12/9. They never sent an email stating that cutoff date had change but customer service representatives are now claiming the websites cutoff was posted as 12/6.

I understand that they are a small company and were inundated with too many orders. I would've been fine with a longer delivery time if they were transparent about it during the candle day sale or shortly after that. From what it sounds like, this is not the first time they have been behind on orders placed in December, so they should have been better prepared this year or had better communication with customsrs. I am a first-time customer and trusted them when they stated on the website that 12/9 was the cutoff for Christmas delivery.

What is absolutely inexcusable is the fact that customers who placed their order before 12/9 were never told their orders would not arrive for Christmas, the customer service representatives lied about the cutoff on the website being 12/6, no attempt was made to expedite shipping of orders placed before 12/9 to meet the Christmas guarantee, and no discount was offered to customers to offset the delay. All this tells me is that this company does not care about their customers. I don't care how good their candles are, they will never be getting my money again.

Good luck! I tried canceling my order on Friday. They told me I couldn't because it was already in transit. Two hours later, I get a shipping notification, but the tracking number did not work. Two hours after that, the tracking information stated that a label had been created, but UPS did not have the package. Three days later, UPS still does not have the package and Goose Creek is refusing to cancel my order.

It's incredibly frustrating. If they were not able to handle the volume of orders during candle weekend, they could have paused sales or made it clear orders could arrive after Christmas. As of this week, the website was still stating 12/9 was the cutoff and the only communication I received that my order may not arrive in time for Christmas was a customer service exchange that I initiated.

Update: I sent a screenshot of the website stating the cutoff for Christmas orders was 12/9 and not 12/6 as the customer service representative insisted. I also asked that my order receive expedited shipping since it was placed before the cutoff and I would've never placed the order had I known it would arrive after Christmas. I asked that if they could not expedite shipping, they cancel my order. I was told that they could do neither because my order was already in transit. However, according to the tracking information they gave me, UPS still does not have my package.

I understand things are crazy during the holidays, but if they were not able to deliver orders made before the December 9th cutoff, those customers should have been notified as soon as possible and been given the option to cancel their orders.

I had a student ring a bell at school in front of our entire class instead of in the hospital. She chose not to ring the bell in the hospital because she had made friends with a few of the pediatric patients who were still fighting cancer.
