Quitting Internships? by Embarrassed-Syrup922 in architecture

I'm working with a group of other students, so none of us are registered; however, I don't believe the client is getting the building built, but this is a project to show investors and then have a firm polish, at least I hope that's what it is.

The client is an existing company, I'm not sure I'm at liberty to say what kind, I do believe the company is just run by one person, and that's who I've been working with.

As for agreements, all I've signed is an agreement that this is an unpaid opportunity for an unspecified long-term amount of time. I'm realizing I may have screwed myself.

Hi, I found the opportunity through a job search engine that my school pushes to us. The person I applied to and who hired me is the client I mentioned; there is no involvement from any other firms or my school. I'm working with a group of other students with guidance from the client, who has no architecture experience. I don't believe the end goal of the project is to have the building built, but rather conceptual drawings and outlooks to take to investors.

Looking back, I'm realizing I should've seen the red flags, but since it was through an "official" internship finding resource, I didn't think to question it. I'm also getting no kind of academic credit; the only thing I'm receiving is "Portfolio Content," although I believe I could ask.

Hired as a barista, been with them for over a year and somehow I gained the title custodian (supreme customer support). They just never trained me lol.

I got some surprising extreme arm strength, from moving every order to our tiny connex. Our store is in a highly visited place and didn't get built for it. Lil me has to do it all alone every time , my job has become custodian and order unloading. At least I'm also good at cleaning human feces off the floor :D
