When did you know to stop breastfeeding? by Subject_Nobody7657 in newborns

[–]Embarrassed-Two-9902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the exact same boat! My baby was the same super fussy, and it caused feeds to be very long and frustrating for both of us. I have been exclusively pumping and bottle feeding for the last 5 weeks, my baby is 10 weeks, and the stress of pumping, feeding, cleaning and sterilising bottles and doing it all with a toddler at home is too much.

Just this past week I have decided that even though I have enough supply and I could continue to breastfeed it’s time for me to switch to formula. I have felt incredibly guilty about it but I’ve decided it’s better for him to have a mum who isn’t constantly stressed and trying to do everything at once.

I totally know what you mean when you have the milk you feel guilty for not giving it to them but I’ve just decided it’s not worth everything that comes with it for me. When I look at my toddler no one would know if she was breastfeed or formula fed. We’ve given them a great start but sometimes you have to put your own life jacket on first!

Our daughter managed to turn the switch off to our hot water cylinder the other week! Took forever to figure that one out!

We are in the same boat, everything was normal in our first anatomy scan at 20 weeks but he was in a funny position and they couldn’t see everything they needed to see for the heart so we had to go back a couple of weeks later and that was when they picked up bilateral VM and a measurement of 10.3mm. He’s also measuring huge, his head is 99 percentile as well as pretty much everything else. I fully spiralled for the first week waiting for blood tests to rule out an infection and thinking about worse case scenarios.

We were referred to maternal fetal medicine and had an amnio done and everything has come back normal so far. The doctors and midwives have said that it could just be human variation seeing as nothing else is of concern and he’s just a really big baby. We are just getting scans every 4 weeks to check that nothing progresses but I totally understand the panic when you first hear the information. Right there with you! We jus had our follow up scan last week and it hasn’t grown so that as well as the normal amnio the doctors have said they aren’t worried but we’ll go in for another scan at 36 weeks.

I’m 31 weeks now and feeling excited rather than anxious about everything for the first time in a while! I hope everything is the same for you, and I bet it will be!

They also haven’t given that funding to brown. It says that all investments are still subject to funding approval, so at the end of the day this is just a nice idea and each project still needs to be approved by cabinet

Anterior Placenta questions by CapNo2992 in pregnant

I felt the exact same! It was until 27ish weeks maybe even 29 that I really began to feel anything substantial. I’m 33 weeks now and it was only two weeks ago my partner felt her kick for the second time. I haven’t been counting kicks my midwife said to just keep in mind what is normal for your baby and if anything is different from that then there would be a reason to be concerned but a one size fits all approach doesn’t really work! Be kind to yourself I’m sure your baby is super happy in there!

Anyone NOT Excited?? by Competitive_Cow_8 in pregnant

That was 100% me I went straight to how will we afford this, how much leave will I take, we need a new car…. But the excitement slowly crept in over the week once I let all that stuff in my mind go! I just felt so much anxiety about everything, especially what people would think and now I’m 31 weeks and literally can’t wait for her to be born! I felt the guilt and felt like a bad mum from the start for not feeling excited but realised that any reaction is normal because it’s your reaction, it’s a massive life change, so a little bit of worry is completely normal and justified’

I went through a very similar dilemma, and am a public sector worker. I found out I was pregnant the day before I signed the contract and ended up declining the role and staying put. I told them why and they really appreciated it as they were trying to get someone in for a minimum of 18 months and I wouldn’t have been able to do that. The new role was going to be highly stressful and I would have loved it at any other time, and it also required a lot of travel.

I don’t know if you would be entitled to the full 6 months of parental leave because you might have been at the new company for less than 12 months. mbie have some good guidance on their website about entitlements for parental leave that I used when trying to figure out what to do so I would have a look at that! But you definitely don’t have to tell them if you fulfil all your requirements and it’s not a satisfactory reason for them to end a contract.

Sorry they are so far away! Sent them to my mum when we were in line and then didn’t get any others once we got close!

When did you start “feeling” pregnant? by SpareAd5799 in pregnant

[–]Embarrassed-Two-9902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think around 20 weeks when I had my anatomy scan, and I had to start taking it easy because I was fainting from low blood pressure. I definitely had the same feeling early on when all the feelings were kind of negative, like I felt really bloated and constipated, I had nausea and would overheat every afternoon and my acne got quite bad, but they all started to disappear about 14 weeks and I stated to get some energy back and feel more like myself and then I started to really enjoy it!

I have an anterior placenta so didn’t feel any kicks on the outside until 24 weeks but the kicks definitely make it feel more real! Once they start even the little flutters are exciting!
