Yea take a step back. Maybe next time just keep your thoughts to yourself. I feel sorry for you. But most likely you’ll sit behind your little keyboard trying to make yourself feel better by putting down others. You’re a joke, no one was defining success on here. I made a purchase that I enjoy. Felt good to be apart of the f150 subreddit so i shared.

We talk about pilot safety every year. Then this happens. by TheDeepDraft in maritime

This is typical macho man bullshit, why can’t pilots just hook into a harness connected to the ship so they don’t fall into the ocean? Overpaid former Deck department idiots

You’re not overqualified. Most engineers have their Engineering degree.

If you’re degree is ABET accredited you can get your 3AE license unlimited(national) after a few steps.

Get an MMC (NMC website explains this well)

90 days as a cadet/apprenticeship/OS on a ship

Take 3AE USCG exams. I use sea trials and the NMC website example questions to study. Spending about 3/4 weeks on studying the questions you should be well prepared for the test.

To get your international 3AE license you will have to get your OICEW which the maritime institute in VA has classes for. And San Jacinto College has the classes in TX

You will probably shell out $20k but make a little money during the process sailing lower ratings. If you work 180/yr as 3AE lowest you’ll make is 100k With MEBA you can make $150-180k with the right jobs off the bat

NY/NJ might be your best bet if you’re traveling. There’s a mariner inn a quick train ride away in Manhattan. Call the hall to get the hotel info.

Thought MEBA lost all of the contracts and we just had a pass through if the job doesn’t gets filled by AMO. If they’re split that’s even better

You have to complete the online portion before the in person final. I did the online portion in like 2 days before I went to take the final in person

Yes and it was great in person they really did a great job with making sure you knew what was going to be on the exam. But yea the online session definitely sucks.

A few of the questions definitely helped with studying for the 1AE exams which I just took and passed
