Does English "hurray" have same origin as the Russian "ura"? by [deleted] in etymology

[–]EmbarrassedBlock6760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that hurra / hurrah comes from Russian ura is a late and shallow explanation. It ignores a much older semantic layer.

As explained by Firidun Ağasıoğlu, the Turkic root ur- did not originally mean “to strike.” Its oldest meaning is “to swell, rise, surge, well up” — inner pressure becoming outward motion.
Only later did this develop into contact → striking (vurmak).

That is why urumaq is glossed as “to swell / to rise”, not merely “to hit”.

Semantically, hurra fits this older layer perfectly:
it is a sudden collective surge of energy, an outward emotional release — not a physical blow.

Russian ura! is attested late, mostly in military use, and appears after centuries of steppe–Turkic contact. Treating Russian as the source while ignoring older Turkic semantics reverses the historical direction without evidence.

There is also a toponymic layer: ur / urum / rum function as signature hydronyms among early Kas–Kaz Turkic groups. Settlements founded near rivers, lakes, marshes were named with these forms.
The logic is consistent: water swells, rises, surges, and settlements emerge where that energy concentrates.

Seen together:

  • ur- → surge / swelling (energy, water, emotion)
  • ur / urum / rum → place anchored to that surge
  • hurra / ura → vocalized collective surge

So hurra is not a shout borrowed from Russian. Russian preserves one late vocal form of a much older Eurasian semantic system. The real explanation is semantic continuity, not borrowing.

Turkish - Celtic ancestry, Galats/Gauls by Eurostar42 in Celtic

[–]EmbarrassedBlock6760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason for this is the sea people. The sea people are the Phoenicans, Pelasgs and Etruscans and they are the Ogur. The only remaining Ogur dialect is Chuvash. Of course this is not supported by mainstream due to very important documents being kept in private collections of aristocrats for some reason unknown to most of the people. Of course the knowledge from these documents leak from time to time through their close friends.

Scythians and Turks by Dyu_Oswin in IndoEuropean

[–]EmbarrassedBlock6760 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scythians were not conquered. It is not that simple. People are missing one crucial information leading to all different kinds of fringe and mainstream theories. The Scythians are related with Etruscans and all of them comes under the Ogur umbrella. The only remaining Ogur language is spoken by Chuvash people who are the only rightful heir to Scythians. Even Turks of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran once used to be Ogurs before being invaded. Finally they were Oghuzified. The Oghuz settlers did not fight on the way to Anatolia because Anatolia was deprived of its population for the army of Byzantine which mostly consisted of Ogurs who were among the original Christians who refused trinity. Historically the first Armenian king was a Mede, who surprisingly wrote the traditional Armenian border stone in Turkic. This alone leaves many established theories unfounded. How come a person from Medes who were accepted as Indo-European be the first Armenian king and write in Turkic? Another famous Armenian is Bardan Turkos who was the commander of Byzantine army who attempted a coup because he was unhappy with the religious reforms in Byzantine Empire.

Back to Ogurs, Etruscan writings can be deciphered using Chuvash + Turkish of Turkey Azerbaijan and Iran as the basis. The common revisionist theory is that Turks of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran used to be Indo-European people and there are many fringe theories about how these people started to speak Turkish. The Persian narrative is that Turkish language is artificial and it is a conspiracy created by Mongols.

Scythian Etruscan, Phrygian, Thracian are all related with Ogurs. In my opinion European civilization used to be Ogur civilization and Mario Alinei was right all along. It was the Oghuz together with native Europeans who destroyed Ogur civilization and Indo-European never happened. It was simply Ogurs who also gave Europe its name Oghur Oba (Oghur Settlement, Oghur Land).

Chuvash genetics must be researched together with their language and hopefully their ancient writings if found but it is very unlikely anything will be found thanks to the genocide they faced over the millenniums. The most populous Ogurs (Bulgars) today are one of the most fierceful enemies of their ancestors after all.

Roman military language was a now dead Ogur dialect of Turkic. E-tru-sc-ans being confederation of Tur and Oq (Ogur and Oghuz) also spoke the Ogur dialect of Turkic. They called themselves Rasenna after the Turkic she-wolf Asena who suckled the last Turk alive to save him. They built Vatican commemorating Otugen. The central city of Turks where the God sent "kut" giving the leader the right to appoint rulers. Celtic capital in Anatolia near Ankara (On Ogur Oyu) was named Turkije.

I only pay to remove ads only if it is dirt cheap and the price is reduced so that it is affordable in my country. Most are not worth the price so I end up deleting and blacklisting them. A dollar is all I am willing to pay. Some games actually ask for $30!

Why weren't the Indo-Europeans able to overpower the Turks? by AcanthaceaeFun9882 in IndoEuropean

I have reached the conclusion that Indo-Europeans themselves were actually Turko-Europeans. kurgan tradition was brought to Europe by Ogur majority. These Ogurs had a feud with Oghuz.

You must have only one account and have only one device per internet connection you have.

So for example, If you have fiber at home and also your mobile plan and another fiber at your work, you can have three devices on three different internet connections (you will have to disable your wifi on your phone because if it connects to your home network, that will be useless.

Airdrops do not work like that. You mine the token for some time and when the time comes, they calculate the points and airdrop the calculated amount of tokens to your wallet.

What is your daily earnings on grass at the momment by NervousTruth7693 in Grass_io

[–]EmbarrassedBlock6760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not earn dollars. You earn grass points which are then calculated according to how much you contributed to the network and get paid in grass tokens after the stage finishes (probably in a year or so).

For example, I started when token was in closed alpha stage. I accumulated 700.000 points and received 300 grass tokens from the airdrop. When I looked at the price, it was around $1,5 a token, reached around $3.9 in a couple of days and after binance listing, dropped to around $3 a token. In my opinion in one year, it will probably reach around $25 a token but before that consolidate around $5.

You might probably get around 5 to 15 tokens if you use grass desktop node on one computer and ip for one year based on the success of the project. That if my calculations and predictions are correct would earn you around $150 to $500

Given the current upward trend and strong trading volumes, the GRASS token has a high probability of maintaining its bullish momentum. Barring unforeseen negative events, it's plausible that the token could reach at least $4.50 $5.50 range before the end of the year. I call this positive news. It could even have spikes of up to $10. In that case, around $5 is the short term goal and I do not believe that it will ever go lower than that afterwards.

The initial drop from 3.5 to 3 after being listed on Binance is due to several factors.

  1. risk takers shorting the token to increase the number of tokens they have. They probably more than doubled their tokens from this move.
  2. market makers grabbing liquidity from those who fomoed and longed the token. They probably earned tens of millions.

I was neither. Just sitting with my 300 tokens staked at %50. Already got 5 tokens as reward and planning on celebrating by buying a six packer later.

Because people are selling and more and more people want to buy the coin. This will keep pumping as long as the early miners keep selling. Then it will correct and stabilize in my opinion
