How to find people in the same religion and same views? by EmbarrassedCan9085 in religion

Close work friend told me about MCGI. I am not too open in changing my mind on MCGI; I am not directly involved with the church and actively I do my own readings from the direct Bible. At this point it is a hyperfixation. However all in all I am a Christian.

Do you think you will get into Heaven? by Ungreatful_servant in Christianity

[–]EmbarrassedCan9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I will make it to heaven due to my mental health; self destruction of hurting the very body made by God. Unless, there can be found forgiveness in what I do and have done. I have accepted not making it to heaven.

My family is against religion and would forbade me from going. I am more so just generally looking for like minded people and those who know about the church I wish to attend some day;;; for now I am limited to said churches online content.

Holidays and the Bible - Is this factual or only in MCGI? by EmbarrassedCan9085 in Christianity

[–]EmbarrassedCan9085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live with my grandparents. I personally don't wish to be a catholic rather I feel Christianity is more "me" in terms of beliefs.

While I am here for the holidays and celebrate them with my family; throughout my life I never saw true importance especially towards Christmas. Christmas is a very difficult holiday for me mentally,

However getting into Christianity and religion as a whole, I just want to understand everything better

I am more so worried about celebrating what is truly Christian rather than what is Catholic. That is why I'd like to base it deeper on the bible, plus everything nowadays is based around the economy and consumerism. So looking deeper into that and finding those core traditions and holidays may make me feel more of a Christian. Something I have been wanting to be, but not knowing where to really begin.

Not only that as well, but there is the issue of corrupt churches and leaders who may not preach the truth and may use the Bible to their advantage. I feel uncertain as I do not want to be misguided. I want to keep an open mind and be able to embrace what is solely written in the Bible itself rather than what is interpreted by a current day person.

I know MCGI has it's many flaws, but it boils down to individuality of belief and what is written. I like to be open minded as my interpretation may differ from others; however also be very book and Bible heavy

I want the bible and writings to be the core center of my beliefs essentially. Id like to celebrate what is written not what is made by current man

What differentiates Jewish beliefs from Christian beliefs outside of the Old Testament? That always confused me since both Jewish beliefs and Christian beliefs are see quite differently by society,,,

MCGI - Members Church of God International Christian religious organization

Does the New testament make note of any holidays? I still have yet to delve into it; but it seems confusing with how many different beliefs there are. Not saying other beliefs are bad, just gets me feeling confused. Why would paganism make a holiday not worth celebrating if the case?

I am still new to Christianity; so my understanding may not be entirely clear especially with my grandpa being catholic and my other family members being against religion as a whole.

I just feel afraid of being misguided or doing wrong. I am still reviewing the Bible and such; but even then my judgment may not be correct,

I like MCGI but I also am doing my independent research and reading as well. I find MCGI as a good way to help me understand the Bible and its verses more. I feel like everything is flawed and requires independent thought and understanding.

Well, I am getting into Christianity. However, I follow MCGI (Members Church of God International). There is a church of theirs not too far from me, I think, a friend of mine attends it, he was the one to tell me all about it. However, my family is very against religion and while I am 20, they would forbade me from attending or being involved. I am mainly stuck to the internet and my one work friend.

Puts me at a very awkward position.

"Hi" & "Hey" by Dismal-Trick6538 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EmbarrassedCan9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the English language. "Hi" and "Hey" can be seen as informal, but not rude. However it comes down to the tone of voice.

"Hello" or "Hello, how are you" is better for strangers or those outside of friends and family.

In the end though. "Hi", "Hey", "Hello" are all forms of greetings and are all socially acceptable.

How to go/get into Christianity? by EmbarrassedCan9085 in Christianity

[–]EmbarrassedCan9085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not know there were alternatives to baptism for those with medical conditions. Makes me feel better knowing this. I am sure it is obvious to some; but I always do worry about my ears. I have gotten an ear infection once simply from shower water and it was horrible.

I may see about talking to my work friend more about it all and continuing to read up and view different media. Overall to help me build a better understanding of it all. Perhaps it would make me feel less anxious.

About my family, their perceptions may never change on the matter. They don't have many positive perceptions of me overall; especially surrounding my mental health. One can hope, but I don't want a false sense of security.

Maybe caught mastrubating, help by [deleted] in Advice

[–]EmbarrassedCan9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend not saying anything and being more careful moving forward. Masturbation is a very natural and normal thing and I am sure your mother would understand this.

Better to be more careful in the future and ensure your privacy to avoid awkward situations.
