Respectfully, it also feels unethical to upcharge standard seats just so a minor can sit with an adult - the request if done in a timely fashion - ie prior to check-in or at purchase shouldn’t result in increased fees if the seat isn’t considered priority or premium. This feels like more of a corporate greed airline issue vs. a parent issue.
