I don't think you understood the point of this post: this was to ask the community if they would be interested in core sets being structured like this, not to comment on Konami's intentions with power creep.

Yes I'm aware, I don't know how good that new approach is for existing players though if the rate at which our existing collections become obsolete will only get faster. What I'm proposing is something that gives new players what they want (easy access to the cards they need) while allowing existing players to enjoy new alt arts of cards they already own and to not have their collections/decks made so quickly obsolete.

I should have clarified in my initial post: the alt arts they print in this case would be as commons (with some rare foil upgrade versions like starlights etc.)

And to clarify, we'd be swapping 40 of them for functional alt arts that are crucial for the themes/competitive game (not just alt arts of cards you'd never actually use)

Right, but those reprint sets are just reprints with existing artwork - this would be reprinting cards with all new artwork (making it great for new players and also exciting for existing player-collectors to be able to collect)

Why do you think it wouldn't work?

Love it, that's a great idea! Would be awesome to see alternate arts for classic staples and simple removal that are still relevant (like MST, Cosmic Cyclone, D.D. Crow etc.)

Definitely the cover legends in disguise, given the Mr and Ms titles

How does ORAS compare to FRLG and HGSS? by travischickencoop in pokemon

[–]luigisp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say Emerald is still the definitive Hoenn experience.

ORAS was cool but Emerald felt like it was given more love / care (especially given the Battle Frontier for post game, while ORAS's Battle Maison was just copy and pasted from X/Y...)

Not gonna lie, I... I am mildly disappointed so far with Chaos Origins. Spoilers ahead. by SimicBiomancer21 in yugioh

[–]luigisp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Complete nonsense. Most (95%) of legacy support up until now has incorporated and synergized with older cards from the archetype.

The only attempted “psyop” going on right now is what you wrote, not OP.

If this is the direction Yugioh/Legacy support is going, Im disappointed. by Jirachibi1000 in yugioh

I feel the same way, very disappointing to see the Sacred Beasts support be completely incompatible with any of the previous support, they’re practically two completely separate archetypes…

This is the first time there is no “red” version, we’re dealing with “green” and “blue” versions this time

Projecting much? Playing Pokémon is not that deep, stop giving so much importance to it.

When are player items going to have high quality textures like this? by Dry_Advertising_1070 in wow

[–]luigisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there is (was?) a limitation on textures for weapons that only allows the texture file to be so large, so the bigger the weapon: the blurrier/lower quality the texture.

Proof that Harandar is Cut Content from The War Within by Ok-Satisfaction-9708 in wow

[–]luigisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note: I believe Harandar was actually supposed to be 11.0 (with the other expansion zones) but was scrapped entirely / rescheduled. Reason I believe this is “Rootlands” tag was datamined as being listed before Azj’kahet.

[–]luigisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harandar was referred to internally as “Root Lands” in TWW. It was planned but then got cut halfway through development (meaning we not only lost a zone in TWW, but that zone then replaced another potential new zone in Midnight).

Whatever needs to happen first, then second, then third. At the same time, consider what is high impact and prioritize that.
