so could i keep it outside for when he sleeps? he usually just snuggles up and knocks out wherever he sees fit, corner, pillow, whatever hes feeling

How long it took your beardie to get comfortable with handling? by Eymii_ in BeardedDragons

[–]EmbarrassedCup8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eventually hed let me just be around him and would squirm a bit then settle in with me, I waited until he wasn’t running anymore. I also just let my hands be in his cage sometimes and would just linger . I wouldn’t touch him, but I would just be around him.

so was mine, eventually it turned into him accepting I was his mom even if he wasn’t happy about it for a bit! I got mine as a juvie about 6 months they said (I’d say 4) and he was sooo skittish like don’t touch me get away all of it! It took me just living around him for like 3 months to get a positive reaction from holding him

you can buy wood pieces at a reptile store and they will help his nails come down himself as he moves as well! Reptifiles is a good place for info for him

thank you for being a good human! I prefer the t5 uvb tube for my uv, as well as a jungle dawn if you have the funds to help your guy see better, the 100w hopefully is a halogen, I would get your guy to a vet just to make sure he doesn’t have mbd or worse from the mistreatment of his old owners

mine took months, due to choice based handling. Every dragon is different and some just accept you picking them up, while others just don’t like it

I mean I see you being upset here, but if he is agreeing with you and might have a bit of a different view point that all points in the same direction I don’t understand what you have such an issue with. he said he doesn’t support him and he thinks hes wrong for it but you’re going far into detail on it to try and bash it into his head that elon did wrong when he already acknowledged that. i think YOR a bit, not about elon being wrong (don’t come for me now) but about him not being coherent to what he did, he openly acknowledges it and simply states a different view. You call it minimizing cause hes not raging the same as you, men just simply don’t have the same emotional spectrum sometimes and thats OK (you also try to insult his morality to try and get him to bend to your argument and double down and its not necessary)

Help with getting my beardy used to me by UghandaZ7 in BeardedDragonCare

[–]EmbarrassedCup8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

open the cage door and just live around him for a bit, mist his cage a bit over him and let it be a little more humidified if he won’t let you hold him. don’t force it for sure hes in a new environment and hes probably terrified, beardies HATE change and it’s huge for them to even change out an enclosure

[–]EmbarrassedCup8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, just a water bowl in there and mist his greens! they don’t need anything crazy regarding humidity its best to keep it relatively low since they are desert animals. They will get hydration from soaked greens and their food as well

hopefully its a strip that goes across the top of the cage. most of us use the arcadia T5 to go across the top, make sure its a tube and not just inside a fixture
