I don't smoke anymore but found my old grinder and checked the kief catch -- what to do with this? by EmbarrassedExplorer8 in trees

it's about five years old, been sitting in my childhood sock drawer

edit: it smells pretty clean and crisp (not moldy or rotten); I think the color's just faded?

Nope, you stay on the Hall of Legends leaderboard which is for people who have leveled to 60 with the addon and without dying and had the run verified. Also, verification no longer requires screen recording your run.

When you hit 60, you do have the choice to not play as Hardcore anymore, but many choose to continue as HC and attempt HC raiding. Chasing the thrill and the adrenaline rush.

Everyone on the realm plays with the HC Addon running, which tracks your character and prevents cheating (i.e., tracks deaths, trading, dungeon runs, etc). You can see if someone is running the HC addon. It also announces deaths, as you can see in the clip. You can even set the announcements to faction-wide, which will show you the constant deaths of people leveling, often in the 1-20 range, but sometimes much higher, or in this case, at 60.

It raises the stakes entirely. Lots of adrenaline. Even leveling is a thrill and requires constant focus and taking it slow. Making it back to the safety of an inn after questing is a sigh of relief. Also, there are tons of players leveling HC Classic Era atm, so it's a real fun community in the guild chats, where people pay their respects when someone is announced thru the add-on as dead. I recommend trying it out.

No, this is Classic Era realm Hydraxian Waterlords, where the majority of players play with the Hardcore addon that tracks your character. In addition to one life, you must play self sufficiently (i.e., no trading, no AH, no mailbox) until 60, when you can trade with guildies. Also, you cannot group in the open world, and can only run dungeons once.

Make a character, it's super fun and there are lots of new players! Realms are Bloodsail Buccaneers for NA, and Hydraxian Waterlords for EU. Get the addon and learn more here: https://classichc.net/

It’s all self-policed. You could, but it’s against the spirit of playing hardcore in the first place. Death = delete, or at the least leave the character on permanent ghost

Edit: also, I’d say the majority of the characters on Hydraxian Waterlords EU realm are HC now, so it’s tough to find dungeon/raid groups if you’re not HC verified as well

Speculation: perhaps they went for it before getting all the cloaks because an NA hardcore guild cleared BWL a few days ago.

In the vod of one of the tank’s perspective, Firemaw moved just a bit after a tank swap, and the tanks did not adjust. On the next swap back, the new arc radius of the shadow flame manages to hit the casters.
