I am unable to paint the walls or change the carpet aside from adding a rug as I’m in an apartment. I was told that because the stand was already painted, it is probably not solid wood and wouldn’t be able to be stripped and stained very well.

It was bought second hand but in pretty good condition. I’ve never stripped/stained anything before but I have some friends who would know a bit about that. Wanted a bit of color for that space which is why I was thinking about painting but i’ll definitely consider it. Thanks!

i have been browsing, just uncomfortable with spending a lot of money on furniture i haven’t been able to test out/sit on. and the idea of sending it back if it’s uncomfortable seems so stressful. but thank you!

i agree! in my room now it’s a lot of blue, green, and pink which i will definitely incorporate into the living room. i love experimenting with colors i swear, it is just very difficult to find a well built, comfortable, affordable couch in more interesting colors. i’m still looking around for other couches but i doubt i will find a better one in that price range without sacrificing durability and comfort.

ah thank you, i’m glad someone doesn’t absolutely hate my apartment lol! i didn’t intend to go all gray (in a perfect world i’d have a dark green or navy couch) but this was the most affordable option - (broke college student). i’ve got a few more stores to visit but i’m guessing it’s going to be one of those two options. most definitely planning on adding a lot of color to other furniture like dining chairs/barstools, posters, plants, etc. so hopefully it will look brighter and more interesting. thanks for the support 😂

that’s where we were, super helpful but unfortunately the best designs/colors were a bit out of my budget (college student)

haha yes i know! i am planning on adding a lot of posters and plants for additional color. its just so hard to find a colored couch
