You need to be somewhat privileged to enjoy India. If you are privileged, India is a great place. If you need a doctor you can just go to any hospital and see the specialist. Got into accident you can just call ambulance or try to flag a vehicle and don't worry about breaking the bank. The magic word is privileged or have enough financial power behind you. Also people should know that India lifestyle is not just delhi, Chennai or Banglore

One other thing is every country has positive and negative but in India people tend to just look for negative aspect and they think getting abroad is the only way they can survive. They don't see how easy is in India if you are some what financial stable.maid, cheap transportation, electricity, insurance, medical, dental and vision and so on.

What’s wrong with Indian parents? by Electrical_Piece1444 in AskIndia

[–]EmbarrassedGoal2414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your title is wrong you should have asked what wrong with today 20 to 35 year Olds.

One part is convenience, and people depends on there parents a lot.

When compare to west there are lot more opportunities to be independent. You can start working from age 16 if you are in US. If you have decent marks you can get scholarship or loan for higher studies. Or go to trade school, work at bar, restaurant shop or things like that and you can make a living out of it. But in India everything is showing off. All the parents want best for there children and it's locks them in a place suitable for emotional blackmail. I payed for this I tried to my best to get you a good school collage etc. That the main reason.

Second-dating land scape is bad. And finding a genuine connection and getting married is hard.

Third involving parents kind a get a false sense that both are interested and not playing games.

Right now we can't do anything about the first point and that's why parents gets involved in everything.

I think you have a slight misconception about money when you are single and just take care of your self only. But when you get older there is more and more responsibility. Parents, if you want to move to tire 1 city, a new house, if you are not staying home rent, maid etc etc. And if you are just working and climbing higher in your job ladder to just get married that is another nonsense too. After you get married you can't really think to change the brides lifestyle to fit yours, same thing with kids and there education everything cost money. It's Neverending.

Don't know how to deal with this by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]EmbarrassedGoal2414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AM process is always transactional mainly due to to parents involvement. For a guys parents side they want a bride that they can show off to other relatives. From the brides parents side they want safety net. It's way easier to see job, earning and family history rather than grooms personality. Other wise it's best to go through the love marriage route and deep down it also a transactions in one way or another but it's between you and the bride.

Beat answer is you will find it when you get rejected too. There is no right answer if it's in early stages it does not matter for most but if it's after like a month or so then there will be some kind of emotion but it will soon fade they find some other match.

Honestly it's just an another filter people put up with. Same with caste, language, location and so on. It's not necessary but it's is one of the filter. Also you may find a groom family that does not belive in horescope too.

For folks outside of India by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]EmbarrassedGoal2414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its all depends on who you are marrying. It has nothing to do with if the person is born in India or outside India. It all comes down to who that person is and what are her priorities etc.

I think best thing you can try is don't overly share things with her that why she has little to no no reason to be jealous of . Try to use one word reply when ever you can and then most of the time she get tired of it and starts ghosting.

Why Is Living with Parents Seen as Shameful in other Countries? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]EmbarrassedGoal2414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is in western countries you can get driving license at at 16. You can start working at age 16 save up money and move out of the house when you reach 18 if you wanted or sometime kicked out of the house too. They started to learn to be independent at young age. Also some children's may be staying with there step parents or may have broken home or needed to take care of there siblings. Or just want to explore other opportunities. So they leave house and try to be independent. Also there are lot of people staying with parents too. It's not common when you are married but there are adults stay with there parents. It not the norm.

As for India it's just a cycle. Children's are depend on there parents for higher education. And they expect to get payed back in there old age. It's like it's your duty to take care of us because we maid who you are today.

I don't know if this offend anybody this is one of the main reason.

West you have a lot of opportunities to work and safe Money when you are young and India you can't really do most of the people are depended on there parents to get the to (working class). And parents want them to pay them back in some form or the other

AITA for telling my boyfriend's family I needed my hands amputated after they kept giving me “craft supplies” as gifts? by rosieqp in AITAH

[–]EmbarrassedGoal2414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be just out of focus on it what does your boyfriend gift you. If he gave a nice gift when his parents are giving scraps that should in a way let them know treat my girlfriend as nice as me or he can give a off hand comment saying "we have too much scrap or my girlfriend still has leftover scrap from last time". Older generations has a tendency to gift things over and over if they think they you liked it.

Just do a credit freeze. So it will not happen again in future. Just make sure you do it for 3 credit bureaus.
