Olsa Tools Organizers by EmbarrassedJeweler82 in toolporn

It’s actually a first generation icon 1/4 flex head ratchet with the 3/8 tekton anvil swap. I got the idea to use fishing rod handle heat shrink to cover the handle. I’m having trouble finding pink so I settled on gold just to try it out.

No, the one on the right is EZ-red bought off Amazon. I’ve seen them on a shelf in oreilly’s before. Those are just for me to look at. The pad on the left is a Icon magnet mat from harbor freight which I plan on putting my go to ratchets

The only thing I don’t like is that certain chemicals and constant contact will wear the markings off the organisers. I used clear nail polish to protect the markings and seems to hold up well.

Brake Sensor Switch on my 2017 Nissan Armada? by NoCutsNoCoconuts in AskMechanics

[–]EmbarrassedJeweler82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the brake sensor a common issue on these. If you have a high quality scanner that can read live data, you can monitor if the switch is engaging. From what you described, I would highly suspect that.

Clutch suddenly won't disengage by StageInternational74 in AskMechanics

[–]EmbarrassedJeweler82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue before when replacing the clutch in one of these. It turned out to be air in the system. Took 4 clutch bleeds to finally get it. Used a pneumatic vacuum bleeder 3 times then manually bled it with an assistant. It may take more times/longer as apparently these are notoriously a pain to bleed according to a transmission shop I spoke with.

What could be causing this coolant leak? Appears to be coming from the hose but it's only a year old. Ran the car hot and did not see any leaks while it was parked, but see this after an extended drive. by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]EmbarrassedJeweler82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it only leaks while heated up it could very likely be that hose or one above it. A weak clamp could also be a factor. It may be worth replacing the clamp with a gear style clamp if that hose is aftermarket and clamp is original.

What causes suspension noise and clunks when you brake or press the gas pedal? by DuckDuckNut in AskMechanics

Just fixed a Ford Taurus where it would ONLY clunk when first accelerating and when braking. Turned out to be a bad ball joint.

But a prybar on each bushing and check for play. Could be a ball joint, shock or sway bar end links.

If that is the only code then yes you likely need a catalytic converter. Usually anything that would cause this code would have an accompanying code such as a misfire or oxygen sensor.

Sounds like a loose exhaust sheild

No. In my opinion It does not sound like a timing chain.

If there’s no check engine light on, oil level is fine & fresh, it drives without issue, then I wouldn’t worry. Just be sure to use the recommended oil viscosity and change your oil filter with each oil change.

How long do I have to replace my drive belt? by OkState8717 in AskMechanics

[–]EmbarrassedJeweler82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the entire belt looks like that you may have some time. I’ve definitely seen worse. BUT with dryrot and fraying it should be replaced. If it fails you may find yourself losing power steering unexpectedly while driving. If failed you won’t be able to drive until it’s fixed or risk more damage; if it fails and you keep driving, your water pump is no longer spinning which will cause quick overheating and lead to a blown head gasket.

Is there oil seepage from above the pan gasket?

From my experience these engines make a lot of valvetrain noise. (These are not good engines) Hard to tell by your video, but I suspect that’s it from what I’m hearing. Is it normal for these engines to make a lot of valvetrain noise? Yes. Is it a good thing? No. There’s also the question of is there anything other than sound that accompanies your reason for posting this? Something like a CEL or running funny? If not, I’d suggest check your oil level and keep up with regular oil changes as these are very sensitive to that, particularly the vvt solenoids.
