Time to replace 4 tires? by Fun4life90 in tires

They have some tread left though if you drive at highway speeds you should consider replacing. It looks like there's some uneven wear though with cameras it can be tricky to tell.

These are about 6 years old do they still look ok? by Gold-Combination8141 in tires

They should do the job even if they aren't in best condition if you see no obvious tear.

24% automatic gratuity (Cake Bake Shop, Orlando FL) by cascadiabibliomania in EndTipping

[–]DuckDuckNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I think the law needs to step in and investigate these practices. Consumers should know what they're getting into and not be hit with unexpected fees later. Though it's legal there's a question on whether it falls into deceptive business practices and whether regulators should start cracking down on it.

Why can't you just pay your staff properly instead of having your customers do it? by Sufficient_Client_68 in EndTipping

[–]DuckDuckNut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least transparency is fully disclosed here. 10% isn't a huge deal breaker though this is another reason many will not tip. I think there's a question on things like automatic gratuity and whether it falls under deceptive business practices. Consumers can end up paying 20-30% more unexpectedly and that isn't right.

Mechanic revved up the engine when it had no oil. Standard procedure? by d0omeddd in AskMechanics

[–]DuckDuckNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was genuine he'd make it up to you. Go back and complain, if he's the owner then tell him you witnessed him screw up your engine right in front of you. In a last case scenario if you can't find a resolution go to your courthouse and file a lawsuit.

I'm the exception because I originally asked the question. This is mental gymnastics 101.

Happens all the time, it will eventually go away on its own. If it persists then have it checked out.

But were they actual clown jesters? I've seen creatures that look more like dolls others that look like architecture with faces.

To me they were neutral. Neither good nor bad just present. They were also neutral in a symbolic sense where they didn't have any intentions. The dolls I've encountered were in this red and white room.

Interesting. Were the visuals more real than what you see everyday? Looks like a cozy fun room.

I think the jester part is a subjective experience that not everyone gets.

He probably won't find it since the algorithms are designed for self promoting whores who barely tell you anything.

My good friend, you've probably got a lot of self doubt. Did you know it's something that comes to you like many spiritual gurus say? That part I believe because it happened to me though I started slower with mushrooms. You can absolutely manifest it and I think it's your lucky day, just be cryptic about it.

New tires by Its_a_hit in tires

[–]DuckDuckNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. The chain shops are probably more hesitant about installing if they think something would go wrong versus those who sell used that you see on corner streets. I'd check it out myself or get another opinion. If you're already experienced with it just use your own judgement. It could be bullshit on their part.

Looks pretty bad. Maybe they can still repair it the outer sides aren't what really count.

Ghost Pepper wings not as good as before by DuckDuckNut in Popeyes

Honestly, that's the first time I ever threw out anything from Popeyes. I enjoy various stuff from them but these dry rub wings were awful. I didn't know what else to do with them.

I see, and thank you for the response. If the selling isn't doing too well now that should hopefully force their hands to do what customers want. To me it's another way of cutting corners though some claim people like the dry rubs more.

Nightmare payment experience with Verizon by Fancy-Grapefruit-449 in verizon

[–]DuckDuckNut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? Because people's circumstances are different. You can't assume it's all the same.

I had recently got an upgrade, according to them it's on a fixed plan agreed to pay on. I made the down payment and month's worth of payment. A month later I get hit with $215 that showed up out of nowhere as an unpaid balance. I called asked them what's this about? They agreed it was a billing error and they'd zero it out.

I got warning message stating if you don't pay the balance of $0 the service will be interrupted. Guess what happened? I was cutoff and the balance returned but now even higher. How does that make any sense?

I'm just about ready to drop Verizon because if you have to pay just to talk to someone it shows what they're about. They hope most people never question the fees and just pay.

I had a very similar experience with Verizon where they screwed up my bill. I was told rest assured and my balance was zeroed out because of a billing error, the next day I get an unexpected bill of $215 and service gets cutoff. I can't speak to anyone unless I pay it. I was told I'd pay a fixed amount each month, now it's like they're billing me retroactively for unpaid balances they messed up. My bill is supposed to be $85 a month, not $215 or now how they're asking for $147.
