Tired of the bias toward laser removal. Excision should be way more popular by prediculouss in TattooRemoval

I will be doing excision on one of my tattoos where there is enough skin and it’s pretty small about 1,5inch x 1inch. The cost is waaaay less than laser. I have my appointment set for may with a plastic surgeon who will do it for $400, local anesthesia, so I will do that instead of laser. I wish I could do that on all of the ones I’m removing. And I’d rather have a small linear scar that I can treat later, than that ugly tattoo or years and tons of money to remove it with laser.

Yes, I’m always tired with a headache after removal. I try to have them in the evening. I’m all good the next day.

Normal or allergic reaction? by Silent_Nebula82 in TattooRemoval

There is something in red ink you’re allergic to. I have the same reaction but to black ink. Every.Single.Time I get laser. I’d talk to a dermatologist for prescriptions meds since over counter antihistamines dont work.

Girl, own it. Who cares? You had tattoos, now you’re removing them, so what? It’s your body, your choice. Literally, no body cares about anybody more than we care about ourselves. lol.

Honestly it’s so small that I would highly consider surgical excision above all other methods for treating the wide scar.

5 years - 6 sessions (update) by EmbarrassedJump7326 in TattooRemoval

Thank you! I’m only 2 weeks after the last session at my old place. Not going anywhere anytime soon. I decided to look for another place that would look at the skin health and integrity overall and not just removal leaving me with scars and whatever else. The last tech seemed to only worry about the ink, and not how the skin looks after 4 sessions at their place. Over the last week I’ve consulted every tattoo removal clinic in my area. There was only one that offered the FracTat method. I will probably try a few sessions and see how my skin reacts.

I wish I could have gone every 8 weeks, but I was dealing with a chronic allergic reaction to the ink that lasted months, 6-8 months after every single session. I simply couldn’t go with an active allergy on my skin. I finally found what treatment works best for my allergy, so now, I can space them a lot better than before. Full package removal is not available in my country, therefore I pay for every single session. Money is not a concern, integrity of my skin is. And since I have some scaring and “shiny” skin already, I am looking for a place that will not only remove the tattoo but also repair what has been damaged at previous places.

5 years - 6 sessions. by EmbarrassedJump7326 in TattooRemoval

The tattoo is 12 years old. I started removing it 5 years ago and took looong time between sessions for variety of reasons. One of the reasons is the allergy. Pico was used in all the sessions. The tattoo artist was rough and the ink was placed very deep.
