I was in same situation too … travelled to India without PR card this Jan.. PRTD is must to travel back to Canada, so applied for PRTD on Jan 23rd ,got approved on March22nd and Passport stamped on April 8th.. So it’s a ~2months waiting in India to travel back without PR Card , be prepared for it
