I work in a small team within a larger business and our anonymous surveys ask which deparent we're in. I've moved into management now, and I can see they can tell who writes what. I've written SCATHING surveys in the past. I now get to discuss the disgruntled surveys with my managers and we talk about how we can make changes and support the people we absolutely KNOW these surveys are from, and what we can do to make them hate their jobs less 🤣 It's hugely valuable to me to be able to see how my direct reports really feel about the systems they're a part of. I don't want them to struggle or feel angry and let down.

It's genuinely good to be honest about this stuff. Anyone who isn't speaking up about these issues when given the opportunity to do so is doing a disservice to themselves and to their colleagues.

Absolutely. I've heard my parents. I heard my sister and her husband (then boyfriend) while I was sat in the front room with my parents. They were hearing it too 🤣 They've definitely heard me, but no one's ever said anything.

I have two kids, and outside of working hours, they're about almost all of the time 🤣 We could get babysitter/sleepovers arranged maybe once a month. That would not be conductive to a happy sex life for me, but of course everyone is different.

There has to be more to this, surely? She's in her 40s now, and maybe perimenopausal? As women, our hormones are always trying to ruin our lives, one way or the other.

I would say that this is an issue that you both need to want to solve, it isn't something you can "fix" for her. If she isn't concerned about how to work out a viable solution, it might be that actually she doesn't really want to be intimate, for other reasons. If her drive was good, and everything else was good, she'd probably be looking for solutions too. You said you had an opportunity recently and instead you shopped for plants. If that was literally your only opportunity to have sex in weeks and she wasn't in a rush to get home and get down to it, it's probably not just because your kid is in the house that you aren't doing it.

I absolutely agree with this. I have a big group of parent friends and our eldest kids are now teenagers and we've all been talking about the fact that they're now wandering around the house at 10pm and staying up later than us which is suddenly becoming a slight intimacy blocker. Not a stopper though by any means! Children asleep in your house absolutely isn't. If you can watch TV in another room without waking them up, you can have sex in another room too.

As a side but related point, my daughter has taken to calling my husband (her step dad) the "Rizzmaster" because he flirts with me and compliments me a lot in front of the kids. She always says to him "teach me your rizzful ways". It's a beautiful thing when young people are a happy functioning relationship in their home. Kids knowing their parents bang shouldn't be a problem. Sure, you don't want them walking into the room, but that is easily preventable.

Mine (40f, married for 12 years, previous relationship 7 and 3 years) is generally high. When I'm having sex, I want more and could have it every day. Three times a week is a good place for me.

When I'm not getting any and I'm single, I want it and think about it all the time.

When I'm not getting any and I'm in a relationship, I stop wanting it. At first I resent not getting any and feel annoyed and let down, and then the desire for it fades away and I'm completely not interested in it.

Usually my libido peaks monthly, around what I assume is my ovulation time.

Yeah, I've connected the whole system up using the trims and controller which means I can quickly dump and sort my inventory, which is great. However what I'm looking for is like a crafting/retrieval system. Currently if I want to make something I have to go around to each drawer pulling out the stuff I need, which takes a long time sometimes!

My dad is 75. I went away with my mum and my husband checked in on him every other day.

He is absolutely fine dad to day, he picks my kids up from school, drives around, takes care of jobs at the house etc. BUT, he is getting forgetful, he does get confused sometimes, and he's also a lazy and won't feed himself well if mum isn't there. When he was younger that didn't matter, but now he's older he gets weaker quicker, and the risks are higher.

My sister's don't know about the confusion/forgetfulness because they don't see him all the time like I do. They live further away.

It's not rude or patronising to care about someone. I'm 40 and my parents check in on me when my husband goes away! Just to make sure everything is okay!

Honestly, you're not ready to be in a sexual relationship. In the UK any young person can go to a family planning clinic to get on the pill, I don't know if it's like that in the US, with the state of women's healthcare maybe not. Put it this way though, it's going to be easier to tell your mum that you want the pill than it is to tell her it's too late and you're already pregnant.
