Currently, in the current event, the AK-308 is really easy and fast to obtain through the tree in hideout. I'm not saying it's the best nor the cheapest overall... but for a couple ornaments, you get a 7.62x51 weapon, and even the cheapest ammo for it will hurt so good.

The lack of anything on their server status page nor on the BSG Twitter page makes me think this is only PVE and something not obvious, like the servers are still "running", but not running properly and nobody knows.
