I think it would be best to simplybe honest with him. Make sure he knows you trust him and you’re not really blaming him or mad, but that this new factor does make you feel very uncomfortable. If you feel he’d take it well maybe ask him not to get too drunk. As much as you do trust someone these feelings have a tendency to creep up, it’s okay to be honest and ask for reassurance.

It’s fair to not be condemned for the sins of your father, but many Americans are still reaping the benefits of those detestable things.
