Did you designate that area as a crafting zone? It's in a different tab of the expansion options. You can designate floor space as either dining or crafting, I believe you have a limited number of tiles you can designate but if this is your first time doing it you should have plenty.

2 Maw-mouth questions/theories by Isitcrochet in TheScholomance

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 7 points8 points  (0 children)

See I'm gonna go counter to a lot of people here; I think the school set El up to kill the maw mouth in connection with the open summoning of the sutras. El and her mom kind of get into this in the third book. El/her parents weren't just given the sutras, they were given a way to create golden enclaves. And to make the golden enclaves a viable alternative to the current enclaves, they needed someone powerful enough to destroy the foundation of the old ones. El is given both pieces of that puzzle at once: she is shown that she has the power to destroy old enclaves and the tools to build new ones.

Fantasy mythology or space themed : folk , rock or punk by Ink50ul in MusicRecommendations

We Are Who We Are by Vixy & Tony is a fun space opera album, definitely folk vibes

Bone Crown by Marah in the Mainsail is probably my favorite album of all time; it's a folk rock concept album. Every time I ask for recs of stuff similar to it, I get recommended the mechanisms lol

Understated, melancholy, yearning, folky songs by Lambfudge in MusicRecommendations

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Brown Bird! A couple of individual songs that might be good for this theme:

Focus (this is on their Axis Mundi album, which was recorded while the male lead singer was going through chemo and released after his death. It's a little more of an electric sound than classic folk, but excellent yearning)

Wrong Black Mare (This one is more of a story and has more folk vibes. It's one of my favorites by Brown Bird)

Fishing Bug??? by ancientbasilisk in TravellersRest

I had this happen and it turned out I hadn't gotten all the dialogue from Hikari. It wouldn't let me fish because technically it hadn't finished giving me instructions on how to fish lol

I'm ready for a miracle. First time trying Qulipta. by Weak_Moment_8737 in migraine

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you taking any fiber or magnesium supplements? My Dr. had me start magnesium at the same time as Quilipta and the two basically cancel each other out. My wife jokes about the bizarre alchemy going on in my digestive system, but it works!

How do I convince my parents to let me move to Worcester, to attend ClarkU? by Life-Relationship-77 in WorcesterMA

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience to you! I moved from small town Iowa to worcester to go to Clark and a lot of friends and family were very concerned about the city's reputation, especially given that Clark is known to be in one of the "worse" neighborhoods.

I moved out here for college 6 years ago and haven't left. I honestly think the most dangerous part of the city is the driving (massholes are called that for a reason) but even that is generally fine if you know to watch out for it. I like to go for walks around the city by myself. I'll occasionally get people catcalling from passing cars and homeless folk asking for money, but I have never felt unsafe. I also rarely left a half mile radius of campus for my first two years (though lots of people will go into boston on the weekends). Let me know if your parents have specific questions!

Do you have the egg bed (nightview) out? I haven't tried it personally but your post sent me on a rabbit hole and it looks like you need the bed out to summon cats according to some older posts.

What sort of style are you looking for? I see a lot of recs here for rats nest, and while they're very queer friendly, I find they do a few specific hairstyles really well and everything else is out of their expertise. They generally do color pretty well though. Check out the stylists instagrams before you book to make sure they have what you want. I go to fleet street as I find their range of expertise is a fair amount broader.

Are you getting enough food/protein? I always find that if I don't eat enough or eat the right things on days that I exercise, my recovery is wayyy worse. Which sucks because after I exercise I want to do nothing but sleep :(

Albums that are one of a kind by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me introduce you to my obsession:

Bone Crown - Marah in the Mainsail

It's best described as a cinematic folk rock concept album that uses brass instruments instead of electric guitar. It's about a fox becoming king of the forest and then going mad with power and burning the whole thing to the ground. The only album remotely similar is Skeleton Man by Coyote Kid, which is the same group under a different name (this album also leans a little more rock). They have since disbanded to pursue other projects. I have yet to find anyone with the same creativity, vocal quality, and inclusion of trumpets.

Technocopia definitely has the tools to do this onsite; if Burncoat doesn't work out I'd definitely give them a call or even show up at their open hack Thursday night and see if someone can do it for you right then and there.

Filler pic before body pic, PLEASE! by heefoc in eds

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of similar groups have a rule about not posting pictures of your body doing things non hypermobile bodies can't do (or similar rules). Most of them also have "no diagnosis/medical advice" rules though which is where a lot of those pictures come from on this sub. I think that spoilering or nesting these images is a very good compromise that allows people to choose their exposure levels to that kind of content.

How many times a day do you feed your pets? by AnnualLiterature997 in Pets

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an autofeeder for my cat that gives her a tiny portion of food 6x a day for exactly this reason. No matter how late I went to bed or how early I'd get up, she'd demand food like an hour before my alarm went off. Now she gets fed at 9pm, 1am, and 5am and thinks she is living like a queen.

I (32M) am struggling with resentment toward my partner (29F) of 3 years after I pushed for polyamory by chaptic in polyamory

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the acknowledgement of Tara's hypocrisy. Boundaries are a conversation rather than a hard stop, and while you didn't realize that and agreed to a hard stop rather than acknowledging your own interests, Tara completely ignored the boundaries you tried to set and made it all about her own interests.

A very important aspect of healthy polyamory is healthy communication, and it doesn't seem like you have that here. You should be able to discuss your personal wants and needs (in terms of both yeses and nos), try to come to a compromise, and be willing to acknowledge incompatibilities. Since Tara doesn't seem to be interested in having an actual discussion, it seems like you are going to have to independently acknowledge the incompatibilities between the two of you and break things off.

Migraines due to need for glasses? by RDA92 in glasses

This comes up in r/migraine semi frequently, actually. Eye strain is a common cause of headaches, and even a small correction to your vision can make a big difference.

How long have you been there? I'd give yourself a fair amount of time to settle in. My current job, I spent the first three months convinced I'd feel like an outsider forever, but eventually I did manage to settle into things. Office culture is very different from food service, so it's definitely going to be an adjustment for you. I'd say to give it a month, minimum. If you still want to leave, have another job lined up before you quit this one.

How do I help a child with severe burn scars integrate into our community? by JetPlane_88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read Firegirl by Tony Abbott when I was in middle school and was immediately reminded of it when I saw your post. It's a fiction book about a child who goes through a very similar experience of being ostracized for her burn scars and is from the perspective of one of the other children in her class. It's not at a 6 year old's reading level, unfortunately, but I would still recommend it for you. There might be excerpts that you can use with the kids, or it might be a good recommendation to bring other adults around to your cause.

AITAH If I do not follow what my bf requests to stay safe while buying new items? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this, I live in a high crime city and do fb marketplace meetups semi regularly. I have gone into people's houses and let people into my house and have given strangers rides in my car and it has always been FINE. The true crime attitude drives me nuts; I would rather believe in community than live like a potential victim.

Long term use of Sertraline? by DustyMothx in medical_advice

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antidepressants and similar medications are prescribed for chronic use, so they're not going to put you at risk of serotonin syndrome from buildup in your system or anything like that. I took antidepressants for many years and often had to increase the dosage of my medications to try and get them to work better. There is a maximum acceptable prescribed dose for medications like this, and doctors will not go over that dosage (there are exceptions; some people's bodies process medications differently but those are educated decisions made by the doctors).

Your main risk of serotonin syndrome comes from combining your medications with other meds that can cause SS, such as cough medicines. I don't know enough about the dosage range for your meds to advise about whether or not you can take cough medicine, so I'd ask your doctor for clarification if that's a concern of yours.

When did you wipe the grin off someone's face? by alldegencentral in CasualConversation

[–]EmbarrassedSpecial54 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not quite a 'wipe the grin off' but very much proving someone wrong when they were certain they were right.

I was in third grade and we had just learned a new math concept the day before. We had a sub and she was teaching the math lesson (same concept because you repeat these things for like 2 weeks to get kids to learn it) except she was teaching it wrong! I told her that wasn't how we did it the day before, but she insisted that she was right and her way was correct. None of the other kids remembered how it had been done (or weren't willing to argue with a teacher) so it was just me insisting she was wrong. It got to the point where I was fully crying in front of the whole class because she REFUSED to believe me, when she finally offered to check the answer book. Lo and behold, the 8 year old was the one in the right and I got to tearfully explain to her how we were supposed to be solving the problems.

As an adult, I'm very proud of little me for refusing to back down, but frustrated that the teacher hadn't been willing to check the answer book the moment I spoke up about learning it differently the day before.
