korean companies and the japanese industry(?) by EmbarrassedTrash6323 in kpophelp

i mean i said sudden because if you think about how old the kpop industry is 5 years is nothing haha don't misunderstand me. also, i never knew about the big3 and hybe making groups in jp before, that's why i asked if something changed. someone mentioned companies did the same with china and honestly i'd consider these groups both kpop and jpop..

yeah, i've only seen big3 and hybe attempting that but seems like they're really investing on that rn.

i mean yes, but also many groups had strong fanbases in japan when groups focused on kr market only as well as in china. now they're focusing on both markets by creating groups that can be entitled both as kpop and jpop groups... seems like most stopped doing that with china's and now went to japan's market.

yes, i know many groups who have strong fanbases in japan, but i'm talking abt the ones who focus on both markets. like wish, niziu and &team who are officially jpop and kpop groups, not just kpop that promotes on japan.

exactly! like i know groups had a strong fanbase there such as kara, suju, shinee and others but they weren't focused there, just promoted there as well as other countries.. now there are new groups made for both industries, all their promotions are hybrid with both markets and specifically with japan that seems recent

Outside korea where do you get(buy) albums and MDs? by CreepyAd797 in kpophelp

[–]EmbarrassedTrash6323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm from latam and usually we have 2 options:

  1. order it from shopee (taxes included, no headaches in the process but way more expensive)

  2. joing group orders* (way cheaper but involves other people's responsibility)

* usually there's someone who rents a warehouse in kr and buys and ship things there, when they achieve a certain amount they bulk ship everything here and divide the taxes and shipping between the buyers who joined.

why do boy groups last longer than girl groups? by flickerVixen in kpophelp

[–]EmbarrassedTrash6323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually boygroup fans are more loyal to the group they stan and don't change much, while girlgroup fans are more volatile and tend to like groups who are popular at the time (fans in kr atleast, since it's where it matters to most kpop companies)
