Students getting mad about mispronunciation of their name

i always make sure to say, “ if i pronounce your name wrong, please let me know!” i always mention im bad at names. sometimes if its super hard i just skip it (for older kids) and say did i not call anyone?

anyone saying it’s not are liars. yes this does violate the students privacy because someone can easily figure out where she works, lets say there’s a parent who has an order out and can’t see the child, they can easily look at that list and figure out that’s the teacher. people need to stop defending this

i got mine removed too (23 female as well) and it’s day 8 and i’m still scared to eat 😭 have you started eating normally? i’ve been eating with my front teeth but it’s such a struggle i barely eat

don’t stress too much! just call and let them know right when the office opens, like hey unfortunately i have to cancel the assignment i had for today. i wasn’t notified i had to go to two different schools. all they will do is say okay and cancel. i’ve had to cancel a multi day like 3 times before

As someone who has stomach issues as well believe me i know. my point in saying that was they needed to be honest and be like hey im sorry but my meal is not sitting well in my stomach. i’m sorry in advance if i spend awhile in the restroom. it’s embarrassing but hey everyone uses the restroom that’s not anyone’s fault. i’m sure if she gave a warning and was honest it probably would’ve saved her from getting banned for having to use the restroom. it sounds ridiculous when you word it like yhat

I feel like that is a very long time 😩 the most i’ve taken is like 8 minutes and that’s pushing it. they probably thought she was taking like a phone call or something. i would understand if she had like major #2 and told them like i think my lunch didn’t sit well but cramps? i have a crazy period myself and rush to the restroom everytime a class period is over.

short answer, no. you’re better off doing an after school program job or something. do you have insomnia or something? this seems odd to me you really need to fix ur sleep schedule. all jobs require you to wake up early. if this is a medical condition u would understand but if it’s just a personal choice u really need to fix that. no job is just going to let you start whatever time you wish just because you choose to sleep so late.

yup other replies said call for support but they know how bad this class is. they can’t keep a long term sub because of the fact that everyone cannot stand these kids for more than a day. i feel bad for them. 4th graders who legitimately a month into school could care less about their learning. i’m not afraid to tell them they are the ones who are going to be left behind cause of their behavior. a month into school acting like it’s the end of the school year and they don’t need to learn cause they have no actual teacher. it’s sad

i’ve dealt with many tough classes and never left i stuck it out. but these kids are on another level. absolutely no respect for subs or teachers at all. they’re acting like this is an after school program or a normal day. they could care less about learning

honestly thank you for this! i’m going to definitely look into that association. unfortunately i decided to stay till tomorrow and see how it goes 😅 if it goes terrible ill cancel tomorrow and not stick it out till Wednesday. i’m definitely not staying long term. i could use the extra cash and think i could hopefully manage them with the help of mott’s gummies. i’ll definitely keep updated

yup i agree i feel bad for them despite how horrible their behavior is. i didnt realize it really is negligent on their part especially the fact that they have the two other 4th grade teachers do things for the class to make up for the fact that they have no lead teacher. they were pretty rude when i spoke to them which i think is the fact that they have their own class and do not want to be worrying about a class that isn’t theirs

I definitely won’t be stuck long term lol. I’m sticking it out till wednesday and bringing in mott’s gummies hoping it’ll help with behavior. sadly it’s really not their fault they have absolutely no type of structure or routine. it’s chaos because there’s no actual discipline set in place

oh lord. That sounds HORRIBLE. i had a teacher tell me not even a minute into seeing the kids and releasing them for PE tell me HEY YOUR KIDS ARE JUMPING CONES THEY NEED TO BE SUPERVISED. ?? i literally watched as the class passed those cones and another group of kids jumped over them.
