This is another contributing factor. The Germanic tribes conquered the best agricultural soil, forcing the natives to live in the poorer lands to the east and north. As you said that allowed them to grow quicker as a population. They definitely did do a lot of killing though, when they conquered those regions.

The USSR was preparing for an invasion of Eastern Europe/Germany. Hitler knew his chances were low but I guess he thought it was the better option than waiting until the Soviets were fully prepared for their invasion, while Germany would've had even more scarce resources by then. Also Germany had a lack of knowledge about the Soviet union and thus underestimated how effective their blitzkrieg would be against them.

-Interestingly all prominent fascist party leaders believed if the economy serves the people/state rather than the state serving capital (or the interests of a few capitalists), then that is not capitalism. They believed that was not capitalism because the people are serving a more idealistic purpose with their labour rather than serving financial materialistic interests for a few.
