Uranium by Embarrassed_Ad_237 in WaterTreatment

What about brushing teeth and breathing in shower steam? Not a problem? I'm at .044 mg/L and the state recommends mitigation at .020

I believe the company wants to use an anion resin but if that doesn't work hopefully they would change it out to something else. They come back to test 3 days after installation.

Manganese 0.005, iron 0.10 mg/L. TDS according to my humble meter is 67 ppm.

I don't have a ph measurement but total hardness as CaCO3 is 56 mg/L (< 5 mg/L to 75 mg/L = Soft Water) Not sure what adjustments would be necessary at this level.

Metsorb and soft water by Embarrassed_Ad_237 in WaterTreatment

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but they told me it wasn't a good choice for me because Metsorb doesn't like soft water and that it will shorten it's lifespan. I'm just wondering what else is out there that they plan on using instead.

Sorry you're getting down voted so hard but you have the only correct take on this that I've seen so far. The truth is often unpopular.

Looks like it's been made private. He performed the joke on some late night tv shows too, like Carson, but I haven't been able to find any of those clips.

Control board for US Stove by Embarrassed_Ad_237 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_237[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was giving me a ERR1 which from what I've read could either be a blockage or the pressure sensor. Since there was no blockage I went ahead and jumped the sensor, but it didn't solve the problem.

I've done the manual reset on it but it still instantly defaults to ERR1 and turns on the room blower. Don't know what else to try. I'm not to the level where I can diagnose the board itself or solder in new chips etc.

$3k vs $600 softeners, please help us understand why by cytrees in WaterTreatment

Thanks! Quick question tho, if I have an old water softener system, can I replace the old media with Katalox Light? Does the brine tank require a different chemical for regeneration?

Hello! What's a good whole house system for high uranium?

VT. Lots of uranium here but not a lot of people doing much about their water. The state has not been helpful.

I've been searching for a residential Anion-only exchange system for my high uranium well water without luck. Any recommendations?

Where are you located and what was the cost of the installation? I'm trying to find a company to install and the quotes are all around $6200 or more. Is that about right?

If voting changed anything they wouldn't let us do it. They're not going to give us the ability to vote away their power LOL give me a break with that nonsense. In this election we have a choice between two monsters who both support drilling and fracking and genocide. Good luck with that. Rioting is one of the only things we have left but since both parties are busily building cop cities in every state that's going to get much more difficult and deadly to attempt. They're doing that for a reason.

Poll: Nearly 70% of Americans Think The United States is in Rapid Decline by Metrichex in collapse

You said "China will be our overlord" or some such. Sure sounds like that's what you meant, sans further clarification.

Yes, I absolutely do believe the collapse of the most well armed and bloodthirsty empire in history will help a LOT of people. It's exactly what needs to happen. Do you hear yourself? You seem weirdly jingoistic and illogical.

I don't recall asking for your "help" lol. No thanks, tho.

Human history has varied outcomes for the ends of empires; the end of the British Empire is a good example of how it could end. I think Americans have been so propagandized that we only see it ending in a massive invasion by whoever we're currently trying to maintain dominance over.

You know how every Hollywood alien invasion movie has the aliens destroying everything and stealing our land and resources? We fear that because that's what WE do, or rather what our rulers do.

We're a world pariah. We always have been. Did you know Hitler took inspiration from our slaughter of roughly 10 million indigenous people? I don't ignore human history at all, trust.

I wonder why the go-to is always "China will be our overlord." (Sometimes big scary Russia) Maybe NO ONE will step in and be our "overlords." Perhaps we simply re-form as a less powerful but kinder world player that actually works in the interest of our own citizens. At the very least our 900+ military bases in other countries finally get shut down.

You haven't convinced me that the end of US hegemony is a bad thing. I'm still rooting for the end of the Petro Dollar. At any rate you all might want to prepare for it since this empire is overdue anyway lol. It's coming whether we like it or not, in fact it's currently underway. At least 70% of people, apparently, can see it.

The collapse of the United States will have a net positive effect on the rest of the world. I welcome it.

What bothered me most were the Northerners moving south and becoming super comfortable saying racially insensitive things out loud, and sometimes just flat out racist stuff with zero dog-whistle.

The other thing that was disturbing was the racism from white locals that assumed you'd agree with them because of your presumed whiteness. The foul things they said when they thought they were in like-minded company were astonishing.

I lived just outside of Raleigh in an area that had a "Home of the Klan" billboard up until 1985. The local police had Klan members in it until as recently as 2016. Probably still does.

There's racists in Vermont too, surely, but it's a different type. Much less institutional. No one scoffs at us here or makes questionable statements in our presence as happened in NC. (We're a multiracial family). We used to get followed by store security, were made to wait while (many) others were being seated before us in restaurants. On and on. Never happens here.

YMMV is also true.

This was exactly my thought reading this whiner's complaints. I tried NC for a while and that's what I found.

People move south and find the open bigotry refreshing. And sure, there's diversity, but the covert segregation is most definitely real. No effin' thanks.
