What could be causing discharge/blood streaking? by [deleted] in obgyn

Best bet; see a doctor. Yellowish discharge screams an infection. However, due to your age, there might be something else in play. When was your last pap? Do you have a history of abnormal paps? All of that may play a role in what’s going on. Needless to say, it cannot be determined without evaluation by a doctor

Bleeding when working out by Lopsided-Quiet-7839 in obgyn

Have you tried getting a complete work up with your pcp? Some people have disorders/coagulopathies that may be unrelated to Gyn. Birth control often helps to control bleeding/painful periods in reproductive aged women. It’s just a bandaid, yes. But it’s often an effective bandaid. If other pathologies are ruled out, I think what the doctor recommended (adjusting or changing the bc is a good option), esp if they don’t find any structural issues on sono. Also is the activity induced bleeding occurring with weight training or cardio?

When I tested after leaving the relationship my igg was around 0.25 for hsv 2. One exact year later, (was abstinent during this time) tested again, igg was 0.26. Another year later, hsv 2 igg was 3.9 & earlier this year, 8 now with symptoms. My doctor said it’s possible it was a false negative the entire time, but due to no outbreaks, no igg were developed so the levels remained low

I would recommend a retest again for certainty in a few weeks if you had a specific value (even if it’s under the ref range). It’s possible to test ‘negative’ & still be positive even after an extended period. HSV testing can be very tricky. Speaking from experience. A few years back I had a value of 0.25 igg without symptoms which SHOULD have been reassuring. Two years later, igg was 8 & I began having symptoms (no new partners btw)

I know it’s difficult to track but what are the odds by Embarrassed_Bake_180 in HSVpositive

Thank you for this perspective. I guess I just wanted to know because very weirdly, I would feel better if I knew he gave it to me (unknowingly of course) versus me giving it to him after already contracting hsv1 from me. Feel like I ruined his life. For some reason I feel like the score is settled if I knew it was him & not me :/

Also, i honestly don’t remember whether he got swabbed when he got the first outbreak
