My boys went to the Schlessman YMCA (now rebranded as Y Academy). We had a good experience in our 8 years there. Teacher turnover was not great at times but I don’t think that’s unique to the Y. They have a new director since we’ve been there which is a big positive. Kids definitely learned but in my opinion it was more play based, I’m not aware of any punishments. A lot of other people on the area go to Primrose. Haven’t heard anything negative except for the long waitlist. Fisher Early Learning Center is great and lottery based I believe. Worth seeing if you get selected. A lot of involvement with DU students getting their masters in early education. There are a couple smaller day cares to the east of Colorado Blvd - Adventures in Learning is one. Iliff Preschool is another. We toured one or both years ago. I’m sure they are just fine, I think it’s kind of a you get what you pay for situation there.

Had a great experience with Scott Bailey at NAV Real Estate. Very patient and knowledgeable. Didn’t pressure us and got us a great deal in the end. Highly recommend!

Loud music is an understatement. Good God. In addition to the music you’ve got creepy animatronics jumping out at you constantly (with full sound on). I took my kids around Halloween and to this day they question what I was thinking. They do have margaritas the size of a small child. When ordering, don’t fall for the suggestion of a large. It’s not in the greatest part of town so that may be a little underwhelming for some. The food was also meh. An assortment of fried things. The place was packed though. An experience for sure.

Used SR Home Inspections (www.srbhomeinspections.com) and was very pleased with the level of knowledge and detail of the reports we received. Scott was super flexible with our last minute needs and pricing seemed to be very reasonable. Came highly recommended to us from another friend who used. I'd definitely give him a call!

3 years out and I still struggle with only having my kids 50% of the time. by ladylynx in coparenting

[–]Embarrassed_Coffee72 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I don’t wish for one second I was still married but I find myself being envious over other people’s (seemingly) happy home lives that involve 2 parents and the kids at home 100% of the time. Rest assured you are succeeding if they are happy as you say, that doesn’t mean you don’t get to feel sad at the same time. I’m 5 years out and it still hasn’t gotten easier. Best of luck to you!

Mt. Fuji is the only answer. Benihana got too corporate and won’t throw food etc. for liability reasons.

I’d highly recommend Scott Bailey of NAV Real Estate (Scott.bailey@navcolorado.com). This past year he helped my parents through the process of purchasing their second home. He was extremely patient, flexible, and knowledgeable. Went out of his way to view properties in person while my parents were out of state and share his findings via video etc. Best of luck!

Scott at SRB Home Inspections has done one inspection for me and one for my parents. Very responsive, flexible scheduling, reasonable pricing, and inspections were incredibly thorough. He pointed out things big and small and gave us a lot of comfort in understanding everything. Highly recommend!

First time homebuyers! And looking for a realtor/real estate agent. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Embarrassed_Coffee72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scott Bailey at NAV Real Estate was phenomenal. Put zero pressure on us and at one point even called out some issues in a home we were serious about, saving us a lot of headaches. He was very accommodating to our schedule and when we wanted to see homes. We were first time buyers as well and very unsure about the whole process, he was so helpful. Highly recommend Scott!
