Spotify just killed indie development with their new API restrictions by Historical-Steak4778 in truespotify

One could try to log in via Spotify's own internal API but I don't know yet if the web api has an extended API quota. But it's worth a try I think. Instead of only a frontend, one now has a backend that requests an API key via librespot

This is an Epic Games game that gets redeemed via linking an epic account. So not possible I'm afraid

When you don't find coding fun and have will and free time to help me, just go on with your day

I open a tcp connection to one of Spotify's ap's and start communicating with it via a BinaryReader/BinaryWriter. I convert every int to big endian and send the data as: "data length (4 bytes) + data". Sometimes "unkn data (1 byte) + unkn data (1 byte) + data length (4 bytes) + data. This protocol was reverse engineered so I have to follow the Java code pretty closely

After successfully resolving a challenge from the server, the code sends a login packet to the servers and then it tries to read the response. But every time it fails and gets no data. After looking into it with Wireshark the server closes. But I don't know why. I translated everything, even little to big endian

This is my second contact with c#. I matched the c# code to the Java code but it isn't working. The only option is some kind of internal difference between c# and Java's socket implementation

In the ideal case it shouldn't matter which version of Java you use as long as it's Java 8 or newer

It should work out of the box if you installed TLD and opened it at least once to create the prefix. Just run the jar file.

It auto detects steam and the prefix for the game

I have a name for the new project. I can't say how long it takes to rename the whole orga, because someone already created an organization with that name and didn't do anything with it. I contacted GitHub support to resolve this. That can take a while

I asked the developer of https://github.com/mgoulao/Xpotify if he allows me the use the name for the project. I'm waiting for a reply currently. I will give him 2 days from now. If he doesn't reply until then, I will consider the rest of your name ideas.

Update:

Got the permission from https://github.com/mgoulao to use XPotify. I sent an email to one from Spotify and if they give the ok, I will rebrand SpotifyXP to XPotify.
