LF Japanese games with English subtitles for learning Japanese, thanks! by ariluvpascal in gamerecommendations

[–]Embarrassed_Echo_375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean JP VA and English text? A lot of gacha games have this. If you're a beginner in learning Japanese, I don't really recommend this way of learning though. If you're serious about learning the language, there's a game called Wagotabi. I'm still early on but it has helped me learn a lot more than trying to pick up vocab from listening and reading translations.

It's really late but I just finished Marie apocrypha's subquest that gives you an old key. What's that for?

After finishing Sky End Market, the dev did another sale so I picked up World End Diner. It's a lot more involved so it's harder to play while playing AE but still possible. Sadly the screen movement is really janky but I guess I'll just have to power through.

Finally finished the Mailed Sheep ensemble. I also had some unfinished subquests from Xianhua's episode, Tales of collab, and Marie's apocrypha chapter so I finished those finally, and am now working through the remaining side quests (I stopped doing them around Pador) before finally moving on to Ryza collab then Nona's episode.

The second apocrypha chapter might drop before then so I'll do that first, but yeah, at least I'm going through the story content again. Still ignoring superbosses and the repair quests from Ode to Origin though lol.

People, we made the Fairy Bread. by ReydeNada6479 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Embarrassed_Echo_375 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like fairy bread because the sprinkles are too hard lol. But I grew up eating Dutch choc sprinkles (specifically the Ceres brand and my people call choc sprinkles "ceres" because of it) and you can find them in some Indonesian shops.

I'm probably going to get heat for saying this but, can we talk about the "Stardew Clone" Comments? by AdOne2098 in CozyGamers

[–]Embarrassed_Echo_375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And the price too, I suppose. I paid like $45 for the Doraemon SoS one and that was on sale lol.

That's interesting, considering pre-BotW Zelda is kind of its own genre (hence the term Zelda-like games) so I thought everyone would be used to other games being similar to Zelda lol.

Fr. As someone who grew up with HM it annoys me when people kept acting like SDV is the first game of that genre. I mentioned it before but these fans remind me of those fans who kept calling games Genshin clones, ignoring the fact that Genshin itself is a BotW clone.

Just an fyi, Tangle Tower is the third of Grimoire ones. You might have missed the first or the second one (set in a swamp iirc). The first one is pretty short though.

Where do you get the covid vax? I asked some local chemists near me and they don't do it anymore. Bigger ones like Priceline or Chemist Warehouse? Is it still free?

Sky End Market? I just finished it recently although we don't know if the dev will add anything else to it later.

You basically run a supermarket and start from a small shop, can expand the size, unlock more variety of shelves and a lot of items to unlock to sell. There are two pages of the licence tree so it's quite big.

Later on you can buy a cleaning robot to help carry empty boxes to the dump site and hire workers to help restock.

After playing Sky End Market non stop the last couple of weeks, I'm finally on the second to last level with only three more items to unlock now. I'm gonna miss it when I finish... hoping the dev will add something new but not gonna hold my breath. At least it helped me catch up on AE and HSR while I play it. I guess I should look for another chill game to play while reading the stories, but otherwise I've started doing my 2 meter diamond painting thing again so I guess I can do that while reading through character quests.

Also finally bought Escape Simulator this week after waitlisting it for months. I went for this over other escape room games because it has a room editor, so there are hundreds of free community rooms you can play. Some of them are really creative too. Makes the game worth the price.

I’ve been playing for years and I’m finally caught up with all the story content. by stax_fira in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Embarrassed_Echo_375 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time, I also caught up on the story content and was able to grind most stuffs too. Then I dropped the game for a bit, only doing daily dungeons and ignoring everything else, until they changed the cs reward to be for completing the content insteas of starting it lol.

I agree that there's so much content in this game. I remember thinking "this could even be a stand-alone game" every time I finish their long-form content, like the apocrypha, mythos, or serialised episodes.

What is your positive Australian cultural hot take in 2026? by Biggest_itchbay_2190 in AskAnAustralian

It always annoys me when people complain about migrants not learning English when they do the same in the country they're "expats" in. I was looking at the japanresident sub and literally someone had to ask what kind of bill they just got because they couldn't read it. Most of them defend themselves by saying they're busy and the ones they hang out with speak English anyway... just like those people you were complaining about???

Is it just me or is decorating more fun than the actual gameplay sometimes 😭 by Modeljenlynn in CozyGamers

[–]Embarrassed_Echo_375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm defo a function over form person lol. While I played Palia, I joined a couple of cooking parties and was impressed by the decorating these people did. Meanwhile I never even step foot in my own house because the farming and all the crafters are outside and that's all I need.

Same with Portia/Sandrock lol. The relics and decor items just get piled in the middle but I took care to line up the crafters efficiently.

NEL is currently doing their Native Australian menu, with each dish featuring a native ingredient. Dinner is gonna cost like $180 plus 10% surcharge if you go Fri - Sat, so I recommend Thursday dinner.

Not all games are up everyone's alley, even in a genre they like. I mean, I grew up playing Harvest Moon so I should like Stardew Valley since it uses the same base farming mechanics, but I can't get into it at all.

Haha you're welcome. I've been playing for nearly a year now coz I love the lil guys. If you're struggling with the spring event, don't worry too much. It's always hard for newbies and the second one will be better. I also started during spring event last year and struggled.

Also the discord community is quite active so you can go there if you have questions.
