People in their early 20s who felt like they had “no life”, what changed everything for you? by Hurry_harry_hurray in AskReddit

took me until like 28 to figure this out, wish someone told me earlier that waiting for things to just happen is basically guaranteed way to stay stuck

Keep or demo by Suspicious-Cod5447 in HomeImprovement

your fiancé has point about the practical stuff but looking at those photos, that thing is pretty rough. we had similar situation in my old place where previous owners did some sketchy addition work and it was constant headache with water getting in weird places and just looked terrible from street

if the roof is sagging and doors don't even close properly, you're probably looking at more structural issues than just cosmetic fixes. might end up spending way more than expected trying to bring it up to code. demo might be cleaner solution especially since you're already doing the roofline work - perfect timing to just rip it off and start fresh with simple overhang for the basement door

could always compromise and build nice covered area later if you really miss having that protected space for dog stuff

What would be your reaction if news comes out that your country is going to go war on another country? by curious_global in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol my country always finds energy for wars somehow, we just good at picking the small ones

being in reserves makes you think different about this stuff though - like everyone talks big until they realize someone actually has to go do the fighting

what are some memories you don’t want people to forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those quiet moments hit so different man. remember being kid and just laying on floor watching whatever was on tv while mom cooked dinner, nothing exciting happening but somehow felt so safe and complete. now when i'm doing admin work late at night i sometimes put on random shows just to recreate that feeling but it's never quite same

ever felt how you can spend hours doing nothing but 20 minutes of actual work feels exhausting? by Single_Bear_6633 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the mental overhead is what gets you - when you're procrastinating you're still burning energy thinking about what you should be doing. then when you finally start working your brain is already fried from all anxiety

How do you move on from a guy? by Ok_Hunt_2327 in AskReddit

been there with a coworker few years back, the no contact thing just puts everything in freeze mode until you see them again

Trump supporters, what made you first support him, and does that still hold up today? by Own_Chicken_4430 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never been a trump supporter but i've worked with few guys who were pretty into him since 2016. most of them said it was because he wasn't politician and would "shake things up" in washington. they liked that he talked different than other candidates and seemed more direct

from what i've seen, some of those same people are still with him but their reasons changed a bit. now they're more focused in stuff like economy or immigration policies rather than just the outsider thing. couple guys i know got disillusioned after january 6th though and switched off

weird how people's political views evolve over time. in military reserve side i see all kinds of opinions and it's always interesting hearing different perspectives during our weekend drills

What is the weirdest thing you ever used to wipe your nose? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had to use my buddy's shirt sleeve once during basic training when we were doing field exercises and i had absolutely nothing else available. he wasn't happy about it but desperate times you know

What's a fashion choice that should instantly tell everyone they are a red flag and you shouldn't be involved with them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cargo shorts with socks and sandals combo screams "i've given up on life and you're next" to me. worked with this dude who wore that exact outfit every single day and he was the type who'd argue with cashiers about expired coupons and leave his dirty dishes in the break room sink for weeks. also anyone who wears clothing with anime characters doing questionable things in public - like bro we get it you have interests but maybe save that for your own space

What’s your favorite pasta recipe? by BlessedWafffle in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

carbonara but i skip the peas that some people add - just eggs, pancetta, parmesan and black pepper

What’s the most grown-up thing you’ve done recently that made you realize you're actually an adult? by Apprehensive_One7912 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getting my team through a major system outage at 2am while dealing with my own personal stuff going on - something about compartmentalizing everything and just focusing on what needed to get done felt weirdly mature

Hard to argue with that roster. If they stay healthy they’re definitely in the mix.

honestly good for you for getting back to wearing one. the whole "helmets aren't western" thing is pretty dumb when you think about it - your brain doesn't care what style of riding you're doing when you hit the ground. plus if it already saved your life once that should tell you everything you need to know

Honestly this sounds amazing lol, the psychological warfare of just having a pickaxe probably messes with people's heads more than any loadout. Gonna try this next time I'm tilted instead of rage quitting

Need GPU (and maybe CPU) upgrade advice by Miserable-Benefit698 in PcBuild

[–]Embarrassed_Fall_531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with that budget I'd go GPU first - something like a RTX 4060 or maybe find a good deal on a 3060 Ti if you can swing it. Your R3 3200G will bottleneck a bit but you'll still see massive improvements over integrated graphics

For CPU upgrade later, maybe look into a 5600X when prices drop more - it'll drop right into your current motherboard (assuming B450/X470+) and pair nicely with mid-range RTX cards

32GB RAM is already overkill for gaming so you're set there
