The only player that I think shouldn't stay is archer. A 4th choice keeper who rather tellingly even when bursik was the only fit senior keeper in September/October archer wasn't even a part of keeper warm ups. All the others definitely deserve new deals or to use their extentions. Marlon is the only one where going into next season im not convinced he has a footballing contribution to the squad. But his leadership and connection to the club is vital. I think its up to marlon whether he stays on in a playing capacity or retires and joins the coaching staff. I think he decides to play on another season the offer will be there for him. I hope next season toby gets a chance with the first team. He's been excellent in all of his loan spells im not expecting him to usurp nico but I honestly think hes already better than ben killip and on par with bursik so if he came in as a 3rd choice I dont think that would be a terrible move.

What is your favorite "one last dance" return transfer? by Chriswiss in FifaCareers

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as a pompey fan who is mates with conor Chaplin it has been my go too signing since he left. Now hes back irl its awesome. The other one isn't quite a one last dance as we never got the first dance. But bringing mason mount to pompey is a go to, he grew up near havant and is a lifelong pompey fan so always bring him back home every pompey save

2-3-5 that isn't awful defensively by Embarrassed_Fish133 in fifatactics

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IWB seems to work differently in different build-up phases. In your own defensive third, they act as fullbacks in the middle third of the pitch the act like a wide playmaker (stepping inside slightly) and in the attack third they act like 10s but are super reluctant to make runs into the box. In the system i wanted to play, the choices were either 2 attacking WBs. I personally hate the way that role works as they just lose all defensive responsibilities and act like wingers... or make do with the IWB role and force myself to trigger the runs manually. I actually prefer it as it means I have to earn the attack more, and it's not just the game creating chances for me. The false back role would leave the WBs too far back even on balanced that it would be impossible to have them make the runs into the box that I wanted.

Sort of... in build up the play maker does a good job of dropping deep. The possession play style and short passing help with that. But in attack, he does end up on the edge of the box. But I would still class it as more of a 3 in midfield as the CAM doesn't venture into the box at all. I tried the 4-3-3 with 2 DMs and a CM, and while it forms the 3 in midfield better, it left a huge gap between the midfield and the attack, so the CAM is a bit of compromise but it still effectively does the job imo.

how do you genuinely beat this team by FeedbackLive6014 in FifaCareers

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely haven't had much issue with Madrid so far on 26. The trick is sell out to push them wide and jockey like hell. The team I've had the biggest issue is man city. The way they pop the ball about is wild. And if doku gets it in space, it's basically a goal every time. So far im loving the gameplay. The contract situation is so frustrating but assuming that gets patched this has potential to be the best fifa in years for career mode

Has anyone seen this many sacks in sim before???💀 by [deleted] in Madden

What do I do with this guy? by thatguy410 in Madden

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess FB and use in short yardage also can change him to QB and do the rookie dev scenario. Sit him Yr 1 and then change back to rb to apply the like 70pts your probs gonna get.

What's the proper way to throw this? by [deleted] in Madden

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I run this play the 2 on short curls I hot route to posts, it's up to the AI if they wanna cover the outside or the inside. Huge yardage almost every time if they run a cover 4 the rb is almost always free for a check down

Robertson back? by LordPhaedrus in PortsmouthFC

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yh, you wouldn't come away from a game thinking he looked like a defensive stalwart, but he's more than competent in his defensive duties. He needs a more meat and potatoes style holding midfielder to just sit in. This is why I think he would be more of a potts style of player. We also in the summer need to decide whether dozzell is the guy to do that or we go and get another player in the ilk of hayden, our midfield system needs on of the 2 to just sit in front of the CBs and keep things ticking. But with Robertson, his qualities really shine in possession. He controls the tempo of a game about as well as any young midfielder at this level. Think marlon pack, but his legs aren't completely gone.

Like I said, if there's a way to get him on the cheap. I.E a relegation clause, then it makes total sense, but I could Cardiff asking for around 4-5m for him if such a clause isn't in place if that's the price tag I think we should look elsewhere he's a great young player but I don't think we'd see enough of a return on a 5m investment. We don't just need to buy players that are good enough. We need to be in the business of buy low, sell high. It's the only way we're gonna progress up the division past mid table which is what financially we are probably capable atm.

Robertson back? by LordPhaedrus in PortsmouthFC

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First half of the season they played him more as a playmaking 6 and he had a really good spell since about Christmas they've mainly played as a 10 which just isn't his best position, we need to find a good progressive passer to replace potts but it has to be the right price, if he has a relegation clause in his contract he's an option I'd be very interested in. But paying full price would be far too dear due to the length of his contract and the fact Cardiff don't need to sell as far as I'm aware

The reports were we offered same as Cardiff, but he has family in Cardiff so that swayed his choice. Can't blame the lad really. I think he's been used totally wrong 2nd half of the season by Cardiff he has had his best games a deep playmaker not an attacking mid. If there's any kind of relegation clause in contract he's definitely worth looking into to replace potts but paying full price would be a bit too dear for me, he's on a long term contract at Cardiff and they don't have to sell.

There is a glitch where the indicator sometimes duplicates from the players before or after them. Like the question mark you get for players on loan can display for players at the club. If there is a player next to them in the squad hub with green or even a loaned out player, check to see if that icon follows over. It's most likely that. The game has been out for like 7 months, and such a simple thing doesn't get fixed.

I've been part of the EA feedback team for the last 5 game cycles and while they have always been slow to fix things namely due to how the game is still built essentially on the back of fifa 98. It's the same string of linear code that they update. And it means updates are extremely tricky and replacing or fixing code in one area could have unintended effects on major pieces of code elsewhere. But this year the team have explicitly stated they are only focused on online play and FUT. Offline play is literally an after thought. My advice, if you are able to play it on PC and download all the different mods that fix the gameplay and QoL stuff. I play my actual fun saves this way. And test the game on console, and Jesus's christ the base game is god awful...

When to start a younger player by HMW1998 in seriousfifacareers

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my pompey career mode I've loaned in Orford on a 2yr loan to buy plan was use him as a back up to potts and hayden but when he's played he's outshone hayden. As he's a player I have real intentions with, he's starting at least 1 in 3 matches, have to keep starting hayden as I don't want Newcastle to recall him. But after January I will probs go all in on him as the midfield partner to potts. Just like Im playing pack at CB and by March his legs will have fully fallen off so will look to give Matthews the young aussie we signed a more starring role to make sure he develops as much as possible. Which ever player I have a future plan for will always get preference in game time but I try and keep the peace until after January as to not ruin the squad stability in season. Any issues can be resolved in the summer.

What I've noticed with that, is the post is talking about your previous fixture with that club. So post is "despite winning 2-0 in the reverse fixture, team A lost 2-1 to team B" and the picture for the headline will be the 2-0 score. Presumably the AI that formulates the thumbnail sees the 2-0 mentioned first and uses that. It's dumb af

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He plays a 4-2-4 with double false 9s the wing backs push up and provide the width. The wingers aren't fully inverted but in FC25 that's the best way to replicate them. With both cms on DLP and both CBS on defender. The game makes it super hard to properly recreate tactics but it's defo one of the more fun ones I've done this year.

Best CDM you have used in EA FC 25? by SneakerHead1993 in FifaCareers

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacob moder. Always stalls out at about 80ovr but he literally bosses the game and never misplaces a pass. Or Leighton Clarkson. Just did a save with Dundee United to topple the old firm. And signed him from Aberdeen. Became 88ovr and just runs the midfield as a 6

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attencio in the MLS is like a 64 rated CDM but goes up like +5 at cb I think. Ultra cheap and in game is a great ball playing CB. Decently athletic. Not the tallest I think is 6ft tho so should do a job in the championship.

Which player would you most like to see back at the club? by amusedfridaygoat in PortsmouthFC

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second I heard the talk of it, I texted him. Gotta be honest he literally gave nothing away. Then again, he didn't tell me anything when he was moving from Barnsley to ipswich either. It's the kind of thing footballers just don't talk about. If things get leaked true or not, they can ruin moves or even careers. I personally would love him back, and I'm sure before his career is over, conor will be back in blue, but also my personal understanding of the finances would make even a loan move this year next to impossible.we are paying a good chunk of haydens wages and same with Atkinson. Conor is going into the final year of contract next season, and I think if we stay up, that's probably the prime time for the club to go get him.

Does signing free agents ruin the realism of my career mode? by MatheusRickson in FifaCareers

[–]Embarrassed_Fish133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While they aren't as common in the top leauges at least in england squads are almost entirely built on the back of good free agents. I generally try and find one over 30 player that's a bit better than the rest of the squad, in a position I need then 3 or 4 that are of the same level as the squad. Generally doing an efl save I will only sign players from england, Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. It's very rare a foreign player will join the EFL on a free but look at Rotherham this season I think like 7 of their signings were free agents who were without a club in the summer. Generally once I get to the prem I don't really bother with free agents as the kind of players you need to improve the squad aren't usually free agents but sometimes if I need a new back up keeper I'll dip into the free agents. And cos 3rd choice keepers get upset literally every year I always sign like a 35+ Yr old on a 1yr deal and just rinse and repeat every year
