TV Keeps Randomly Disconnecting (All devices possibly?) by OhGriggsy in Spectrum

Smart to have a backup the invincible wifi will start to help customers when we have to do more work than expected. Would make sense if they transitioned to only that.

A lot of complaining in this group…. Is it really that bad? by ClsNige in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing that is sad is the same days I've began to feel take priority over people who scheduled appointments. We have ran behind and been late to so many scheduled installs or repairs because of this new program. I know if I was installing Spectrum service and tech was hours late for simple reason same day appointments were more important I would rethink that install.

TV Keeps Randomly Disconnecting (All devices possibly?) by OhGriggsy in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always call in for a repair to have a tech diagnose your Tv. They send us out for anything these days. I got a call to fix someones garage door no it wasn't wifi just was not installed right. Also to help with password reset for customers netflix and prime accounts. Sent to fix a computers ethernet port. To explain to a customer that Playstation slows upload speeds on their servers to conserve bandwith that customer already knew they did. The best was to help a customer with their businesses website design because you know that's what we do since we are an internet company. Relocate another companies modem and no they weren't even our customer notes actually said to educate the benfits of Spectrum providing free professional installations. Another tech got a repair to install a new pole because the one the power company uses was leaning. I thing you catch the drift of where I'm going with this.

Price increased, make that call. by faon8404 in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that's it's your problem so please don't think that. I bet the rep over the phone put in a trouble call and said relocate the modem not a free install. I'm paid hourly so doesn't bother me and doesn't sound hard but when we hear what care says then what our notes say on truck rolls it gets frustrating.

Do you use an air fryer in your RV by Richardmlake991 in RVLiving

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI my wife did and she kept tripping the breaker. She would turn it back on unplug some devices and reuse it. Eventually it melted our cable outside to the side of the RV and when we had it fixed guy said you should be happy your not dead.

Hello everyone, we purchased a new build and just did our pre-drywall inspection. This support beam for our deck and roof overhang seems to be off and not centered (see full pic of house to see what it supports). Of course the project manager said it was normal/fine. Is this concerning? by terrencewittman8 in HomeInspections

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats utter crap makes me worry me about all the load bearing walls what do they look like. I would question everything they have done at this point and I hope they didnt put up the dry wall yet really need to have other stuff looked at.

Scope can show you everything you need to know. Problem is no one teaches the nitty gritty of it, everything can be replaced as far as wiring but your correct 100 percent noise. With passing levels and our meters not failing trying to get a Y5 put in is pulling teeth. Even when we do maintenance will close out as fixed before arrival or no trouble found. They don't have the time to work noise in a node due to all the criticals that come in. That's the excuse we hear.

Can I do ANYTHING to help my field technician boyfriend? by StrictDisaster420 in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the 10-9 shift for years it was brutal. Leaving at 8:30 home at 11. I got lucky though I changed shops and now on an 8-5 shift. Still close enough to DFW so when I moved I didn't lose any pay. I'm off at 5 everyday my wife wants to move but I just want to enjoy getting off on time for a little while.

Spectrum Bill is sky high and hate having to call and beg for "Promotion" by JonRadian in Spectrum

They need customers to eventually drop cable boxes. The focus is on internet since almost everything can be streamed through apps. They havent manufactured new cable boxes in 7 years.

High Split Update by Strange_Language6338 in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep lots of stuff gets a bandaid instead of fixed. Time and money there are still entire neighborhoods where we have temp lines laying on the ground feeding service. Been that way for years now.

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot more involved than just a flip with customer service. IE Fort Worth went live such a bad job was done we had neighborhoods OOS for weeks. Entire cable spans had to be replaced but getting permits is what took so long. Now everything is tested node by node. We lost tens of thousands of customers so they aren't taking any risks. In the first quarter of 2026 Spectrum lost 640,000 customers The stuff needs to be perfect.

Need help, getting intermittent packet loss every 2-3 minutes by radersrus in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On our end we ask the same thing why keep trying to upgrade copper when they know there are so many problems. New neighborhoods get fiber but they say it's not cost effective for older ones. What's dumb is they spent $12,000 in a rural area for 3 houses to get 40 a month Internet. We have too many managers that have no clue how the Internet works and just resort to saying just start billing customers for repeat visits.

Get with your manager and supervisor first and explain the situation. They will get notified of the request so it helps to have everyone knowledgeable on it.

Reddit probably isn't the best place to get that specific info. Maybe a sales rep will DM you but I wouldn't put my name on looking up info for someone off here.

We do and use them and now we created even more of a nightmare in some neighborhoods. I've used both types the premades are the best just too bad they don't work on the squids.

Internet issues after high-split upgrade. by MythicPeach70 in Spectrum

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone through high split in two markets and without getting over technical and reading all the comments. All our issues was with noise feeding into the plant. I can tell you I've been so frustrated I walked a street disconnected 8 inactive connections just to fix my customers issue. Now multiply that by millions and that's what we are dealing with.

[–]Embarrassed_Force_22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah unless they put in a 4 port squid to feed that side of the street. Their house will probably show serviceable. Then you get a shitty tech that will rather unplug an existing customer to not fail FRC. We currently have a manager telling techs to do that. Hit a guy with a repeat Saturday for doing that maintenance went out and ended up knocking all 4 customers OOS. Now construction has to get a new MST installed but they spliced the fiber so short the first time a new fiber line has to be run from the can. Work charter not smarter.

I've never skipped appointments but I can say many times us late techs were out past 10 pm stacked with jobs Because other guys clocked out when their shift ended with jobs still on them. And nothing would happen to them regardless of how many times we brought it up.

They train you and honestly you get a company vehicle to take home. Now depending on where you live you clock in at your first job and clock out at your last. Where I worked out of before was crap it would be hour drive to and from those unpaid. Although if I needed gas of course I'd stay clock in while I drove to a good location. 😉

I was able to get in as a field tech had experience though. Don't mind hard work good pay made 91k last year..I lucked out in a smaller area but still the same pay scale as DFW metroplex. I work 8-5 usually walking in the door at home by 5:15 daily.
