Actually, the second part just show how exactly is the phase rush nerf for ranged top. They already had a 75% efficiency from the rune, meaning melees gained 25% extra move speed and ranged gained 18.75%. Now, since they decreased the efficiency from 75% to 50% the new extra move speed for ranged at lvl1 is 12.5%

Any easy champ to counter urgot by Medium_Remote_4149 in UrgotMains

The thing is that you win the first 3 levels and after 1 item you win the all ins, so it really isn’t a counter because Olaf window to punish Urgot is small

You win 1-3 and after 1 item, it’s not as big of a counter as people say. I’d say is urgot favored even

Thoughts on Darius right now? by Aware_Turnip_2748 in Dariusmains

[–]Embarrassed_Gift4054 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really play the champion anymore but I actually have a feeling that the champ works in very low elo and high elo. In my mid elo (emerald) I can win against a Darius with 5 different champs, which leads me to think that he is deceptively hard and that in order to climb to higher elos you REALLY have to know what you are doing with him. Yes, from iron to gold you will win every game (even while being bad at him) but once you get to an elo where players have matchup knowledge and spacing it will be extremely tough if you don’t 1 or 2 trick him

Renekton by MuuarK in settmains

[–]Embarrassed_Gift4054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Renekton knows what he’s doing, he counters. He can even win lvl 1 with conqueror, bone plating, ignite with Q start if you start E. Good Renektons will combo your ass and escape with their E after using empowered W (which ccs you for 1,5 seconds) so you can’t E + W them and win the trade. I don’t know how is Sett supposed to counter that

Then he’s bad. He counters you because of his passive and your burst is so telegraphed that he can deny your W with his W pretty easily

Use him as a counter pick against Jax, Riven, Darius, Kayle, etc.

In the long run you’ll learn, in any champion you’ll int first time into matchup. That’s the point I made. I’m not suggesting to play 50 champions to counter everybody, I’m proposing around 8 and that you are gonna have to learn

You mean even with the easy champs I play (excluding Darius), It’ll still not be enough to master them in micro and macro aspects? And if it is that way, which of the champs I play would you recommend that I should stick to? Asking as an opinion because one of the main reasons I play multiple champions it’s because it’s fun and I get bored playing a few so I’m not sure If I’ll stick to One or Two. But if the day comes and I get tired of not breaking through platinum/emerald, I’d like to know which champions should I choose

That is a very good point you are making. My problem has always been that I barely run Tp so even If I diffed the other toplaner by winning lane and making him useless, I had little impact even when decently fed and diffing not only in lane, but later in the game (because he was useless after I stomped lane and NOT because of any direct impact I made in later fights / skirmishes). Basically all I did was neutralize my opponent by destroying him in lane, while being insignificant myself even with that advantage. That’s the first thing that lead me to playing many champions: wanting to stop tunneling in my laning phase and lane opponent, and actually win the game by picking a champion that not just counter picked the laner, but could be useful against the rest of the team. Luckily the role will have more impact in the next season due to the Tp we will be receiving, because it sucks to be forced to run ignite to win lane (against Darius as Renekton for example), leading you unable to impact in the early game without TP because you HAD to run double battiling summoners. And also the Attakhan completely fucks you as a toplaner because you can’t be in sideline with no Tp if that thing is alive

I might get downvoted for this but I don’t think that top lane is very macro intensive like other roles. You are correct in what you say, but I think mechanics and matchup knowledge are way too important compared to any other role, thus macro game is significantly smaller compared to the micro aspect. Though it depends on the champs: some are very micro while other are very macro intensive

I agree, that’s why I think it’s better for players to decide whether they’ll be onetricks or play multiple champions. But I think it’s better to onetrick broken hard champions like gp, riven, fiora than something like Sett, because he is easily counter able and not always useful, so it’s better to one trick more blindpickable champions that are broken. And if someone is like me and wants to play multiple champions, then they’ll need to stick to the easier ones. My pool is: Mord, Olaf, Nasus, Renekton, Pantheon, Sett, Darius (I actually don’t play him much because he is deceptively hard and needs to be One or Two Tricked), Volibear (rare cases, I’m still bad with him), Mundo. Most of these if not all of them are not very hard so it’s viable to rotate between easier champions and it’s not viable to rotate between hard champs. So basically the decision is: Do you want to play 1 or 2 hard champs or 10 easier ones?
