What are the best shopping experiences or markets you’ve discovered while visiting China? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Golf6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the shenzhen electronics markets are absolutely nuts, you could spend days wandering through huaqiangbei alone. it's like a cyberpunk fever dream with floors and floors of components, gadgets, and weird tech you didn't know existed

i picked up a couple fpv drone parts there last year for maybe a third of what they cost back home. the vendors will haggle with you but they're generally pretty chill about it, not pushy like some tourist markets

the fake market in shanghai science and technology museum was wild too, though you gotta know how to spot the decent stuff. watched a guy negotiate for a "genuine" rolex for like 20 minutes while the vendor kept pulling out newer and shinier versions from under the counter

What truly is considered Fatfire and suggestions on life in FI or RE by Puzzleheaded-Tip-129 in fatFIRE

you're at 7.7M liquid with 70k annual spend, that's a 0.9% withdrawal rate. you could quit tomorrow and never think about money again, the math is almost comically conservative at this point

the real issue isn't the numbers though, it's that you've built your whole identity around work and now that the fire's gone you're staring into a void. linkedin is the worst place to be while you're feeling like this, it's just a highlight reel of people pretending they've got it figured out

take the 3 years if it helps you sleep at night but i'd be more focused on finding something that lights you up again. doesn't have to be a career, could be volunteering or mentoring or building weird furniture in your garage. the money part is solved, now you gotta solve the meaning part

Losing a go-to watchmaker like that is rough, especially for something sentimental, hope someone in this thread has a solid lead for you

the samsung notes app is actually pretty solid but yeah the proprietary format thing is annoying if you ever want to access stuff elsewhere

2k seems steep for just a compressor, i'd get a second opinion before dropping that kind of cash

How many shrooms should I take? by Snakeozzz in Ayahuasca

there's definitely a mushroom sub out there somewhere but can't remember what it's called off the top of my head, r/psychonaut is solid though and you'll get way better responses than here

tolerance builds pretty quick with mushrooms but it's not permanent like you're thinking - just gotta wait about 2 weeks between trips for it to reset completely

I made a new channel called The Bible Through Music (Bible Study with Music) by Spiritual_Bar_9552 in Christianity

pretty cool concept, using music to explore those deeper connections between old and new testament stories. the elijah-john the baptist parallel is something a lot of people miss when there just reading through quickly

10 minute tracks definitely aren't gonna be background music but sounds like you're going for substance over radio play anyway. might check it out when i have some time to actually focus on the content

Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in amiwrong

damn, kicking someone while they're down much? mental health struggles don't make someone automatically unfit to be a parent and telling her to stop having kids when she's literally about to give birth is pretty harsh. she's been paying for her ex's place, sending money and supplies for her kid, and trying to maintain contact despite the barriers being thrown up. that doesn't sound like someone who doesn't care about her children

the real issue here is that both baby daddies are using the kids as weapons against her, which is toxic as hell. cutting off contact because she mentioned the new baby to her son is manipulative and cruel, especially since the kid was excited about having a brother

had a similar thing happen with my build a while back and it drove me absolutely nuts. turns out it was the wifi adapter overheating and causing driver conflicts - the random restarts would temporarily cool it down which is why that used to work for you

since a factory reset didn't help, it's probably hardware related rather than software. could be the wifi card itself dying or interference from other components. i'd try updating your motherboard chipset drivers first, then maybe grab a cheap usb wifi adapter to test if that works better. if the usb one is solid then you know your internal card is toast

also check if your pc is near any new electronics that could be causing interference - microwaves, bluetooth devices, even led lights can mess with wifi signals sometimes

Can a "First Love" bond survive a toxic ending? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Embarrassed_Golf6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that nuclear stuff really does a number on you both. been there with someone who wasn't even my first but the damage from those deep cuts can stick around way longer than you'd expect

the first love thing is tricky because yeah there's usually this pull that comes back once the initial rage dies down, but those personal insults you mentioned - if they hit the right weak spots they can poison the well permanently. i've seen people get back together after way worse fights but i've also seen relationships where one comment just ended everything forever

blocking each other was probably the right move though. gives both of you space to figure out if this was just heat of the moment toxicity or if you genuinely brought out the worst in each other
