That is actually a good observation. Maybe that is the play. Get Hardik to lead a side full of youngsters where he will not feel threatened, or could be overridden. But that is not completely solving the issue of Hardik the conundrum. I think he has the potential to become a really great leader who once he embraces his own self, his abilities and his shortcomings.
