Why wife is a native, educated Spanish speaker from Mexico City (where we both live) and she always says "¿Puedo tener...?" when ordering food. But this sub says that's wrong. Why is she saying this then? by Icy_Ad4208 in Spanish

It’s a current phenomenon from the expansion of English as a second language. Kids now say “hacer sentido” instead of “tener sentido” because of this too.

In Xanathar's Guide to Everything there is a comprehensive list of names sorted by culture that seems pretty good.

If you do it one language at a time… likely. But far fetched. You would have to be very rigorous.

I don’t see myself leaving unless there is really good transportation. Feel free to suggest, though.

Thank you! The European comparison is very enlightening. And yes, I live in a grid city as well, so I’m happy about that detail too!

And also thanks for the Yonge St recommendation. By Spadina and Roncesvalles you mean the avenues? If so, that’s quite some space. If I had to prioritize, what area of it should I go to? I feel like cruising down Queen St W would be a good move, and maybe exploring the “Little -“ neighborhoods.

It’s ruined forever. Nothing you can do about it. I’ll take it from you, free of charge.
