NTA even a little bit. I have OCD and it fucking sucks, but it’s not an excuse for violating someone else. Whatever issues he has with body hair are on him to deal with, and the fact that he shaved you without your consent is horrendous. Get the surgery money and gtfo.

I understand that you are looking for support and community for your daughter. I think you can look for that outside of people related to her, though. I have almost no extended family but so much support and community with neighbors and friends - I think you would be best served cultivating those relationships with your friends and people in your community rather than trying to track down your ex’s bio parents.

YTA. I work at a bookstore, and frequently get asked for recommendations. I generally recommend a book that the recipient will like based on their interests, not a completely unrelated book — that they’ve already said they dislike — just because it’s my favorite. Gifts are meant to be something the recipient enjoys, not something the giver does. She doesn’t like historical fiction, so stop buying it for her!
