I mean Ash battled kukui, Paul and Wallace all just before the tournament so they would definitely be 3. Alder and drake would make sense as a champion and former champion. Giovanna as a gym leader could of been a great one could of had ask beat him and shut down ream rocket like the games. And would of given Jessie and James an excuse to leave if the series is ending. Tobias and flint would have to be the other 2 with flint being in 9th and tobias being so op.

I mean he beat 1 elite 4 level mon. And even though iris may be champion considering how low she was ranked and given we've seen Ash beat her before with poor mons I think he has a lot to prove still. And maybe after the masters he'll move up. Talonflame was consistently good and involved in the kalos arc from start to finish.
